It’s possible! Ultimately, we won’t know more until we actually get to the first binding to see how it works. And mostly to see how it works with the Nine that isn’t VI because I do believe that Bael’s suffering is part of it being specifically VI (and probably some other factors).

We also haven’t heard from Osiris in a while. Understandably so tbh, the last thing he was dealing with was Echoes and … Yeah. He deserves some rest. But I’m beyond interested to find out what he thinks of all the Vex and the Nine stuff going on. We’ve heard from Saint that Osiris very much yaps about this at home, but beyond that he hasn’t been active yet. I am absolutely assuming his involvement in some way, shape or form when it come to binding I. Or maybe even just binding in general. He seems like the person to participate (I’d also like to see Mara show up).

The main question about binding is really just: is it safe for the vessel. Obviously it’s very bad for Bael, and all emissaries of the Nine have had bad experiences one way or another, but I do wonder if binding a willing member of the Nine to a suitable vessel would be fine, and maybe even beneficial to them both. If that’s the case, then giving Osiris this power would probably work really well and yeah, he does have experience with sustaining being essentially bound to Savathun via Hive magic for so long so he may be more capable of being a vessel safely than anyone else.

As for getting conspiratorial… Listen. I’ve been going even further than that. Literally everything that happened is now kinda suspect. Obviously I don’t think that they’ll go back be “actually everything that ever happened was because of the Nine,” but there are certain peculiar events that in retrospect may as well have been somehow facilitated by them. In this really convoluted and bizarre way that they work. Many events could be added to by saying “yeah the Nine made a push here and a pull there for this to go in this specific way.” But going into all of that is like five further steps down into insanity that may as well lead nowhere so I don’t know. Either way, I agree that some stuff, now that we know the Nine meddled, is suspect. Especially when it comes to characters like Osiris or Savathun or Mara.

Needless to say, binding I is my most anticipated moment of this whole plot. Unavoidable to finally talk about Mercury and have Osiris in the story. Unless they pull something on me.
