THIS READING IS SO BAD!!!
I did not like the reading of Octavia Butler's book "Parable of the Sower". Wrong voice, wrong cadence. Flat and does not convey the real vibrancy of the work. I was able to listen to eight pages before turning it off. Did you use ai for this reading?

Beware of the "free trial"
UPDATE: I've added a star because Audiobooks.com appears to have honored my cancellation and refunded my "pending" payment. Here is what my PP acct reads now:
Storytel Audiobooks USA LLC −$14.95
February 3, 2026 . Canceled - Authorization
The temporary authorization was canceled and your payment method wasn't charged.
The following is my original review before the refund was made:
Beware of the "free trial". They advertise for a 30-day trial. After I perused the selections and found a couple good titles, I signed up for the free trial. I wasn't concerned by next step when it asked for my billing info b/c reputable sites offering free trials just want to verify your payment info. Sometimes charging a test fee of $1. And then refunding it. NOT in this case. Audiobooks.com charged my paypal the full monthly fee up front, holding the $ hostage (in effect) until 1st monthly payment is actually due. It is essentially a pending payment, but those funds are not available to me while it's in "pending status". So I immediately cancelled the free trial and asked for a refund. I have not heard back but we'll see. I'll have to talk with paypal and bank if I don't get my money back by tomorrow.
Disgusting charging for something I haven't used and no bills sent
Disgusting. It turns out they had two accounts for me with two different emails. I only spotted it on my credit card recently they have been charging me for something I have not been using. I had cancelled one but they had another one with my other email address. Been paying for over a year of something I have not been using. I haven't been receiving bills or anything so no idea they were digging into my credit card every month for over a year for something I haven't used.
I started with AudioBlocks before they…
I started with AudioBlocks before they morphed into StoryBlocks, back in 2015. I was growing on YouTube and needed some music. So I joined AudioBlocks. They have a LARGE selection of music, sound effects, stock video and stuff I never even seen. Got a license for the music I downloaded from them and used it on YouTube. Every time I got a copyright complaint against the music (usually Adrev), it was retracted within 48 hrs, just because I presented the license or contacted support. This outfit can absolutely be trusted to back you up. I have over 2 million subs on YouTube and this is the only place I go for music. It's worth the money in my opinion. Gung Ho Vids
Charged me after unsubscribing, refuses to refund.
Started charging me $23 after trial was over, every month. I had no idea of this so had to cancel my credit card thinking it was scam. It started charging on the new card. Contacted support and got them to unsubscribe me and refund me. Unsubscribing was done but no refunds and all credits were gone. AFTER UNSUBSCRIBING, THEY CHARGED ME AGAIN. I RLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO TO GET THEM OFF MY CREDIT CARD.
Great customer service!
Great audiobook service!
Great audiobook service. Signed up for a free trial and got a few books. Ended up staying past the free trial. I do like how they have free bonus books every month that typically would cost a credit.
They make it as hard as possible to cancel
I'm happy with the range of audiobooks they offer, but don't finish an audiobook each month.
Their "credits" system is predatory (credits disappear after a few months, even if paid for).
So is their subscription: they make it as hard as possible to cancel it.
Predatory and deceptive advertising for…
Predatory and deceptive advertising for free trial. You only get the credit if you keep your subscription past the trial. Lackluster options for books, I couldn't even find 2 "VIP" books I wanted to listen to, and even worse customer service. There are plenty of audiobook companies, give a different one your money.
Disappointing
Wanted to read Hamnet. I signed up and then: this e-book is not available in your country. (I live in the EU.) Disappointing!
Credits expire after 3 months
I had no problems with the app or selections, but was surprised to find out that the credits expire after three months, which is not communicated when you sign up or under their FAQs, etc. It is buried in their Terms of Use. I will be cancelling after finishing my VIP read for the month. I was looking for an Audible alternative, but don't like these business practices.
TRIAL MEMBERSHIP IS A SCAM
We cancelled our trial membership but our credit card was charged for years. They acknowledged that we NEVER rented a book after the trial, but they would not refund our money. COMPLETE SCAM !!!
Terrible narration put me off the book…
The narration was of such poor quality that I was unable to continue reading. I therefore deleted the book and had a very negative experience. I am uncertain whether the book itself is of any merit.
Deceitful and Unresponsive. Do NOT sign up!
(1) I was charged $18 in error because they didn’t give me the deal I signed up for. (2) I contacted Customer Service and offered to send screen shots proving my case. They refused but offered to cancel my account (with NO refund of course). (3) I told them to immediately cancel my subscription. They did NOT! So, I was charged another $18 AFTER telling them to cancel! (4) I emailed them TWICE after that asking that they cancel my account and refund $36 to my credit card. I have received NO response! Nada. Zip.
I’m done standing by while subscription-based companies—particularly audiobook ones—mislead and take advantage of customers. I am disputing their charges with my credit card company and filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Indiana Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
No easy and intuitive way to cancel…
No easy and intuitive way to cancel subscription.
Audiobook is using my time by hiding any simple access to a clear “cancel subscription” link.
What a scam and a time waster
I signed up and used audiobooks two…
I signed up and used audiobooks two times before deleting the app since i didnt use it. I have then tried to cancel my subscription for months, through app store, their own website or even in my bank. For some reason they still manage to deduct a fee every single month. I get ZERO replies from customer service, via phone, email or chat. My next step is to cancel my payment card which seems rather extreme for this.... Very disappointed by the unprofessional/unserious behaviour from seemingly a legit company.
They will charge you even after you…
They will charge you even after you cancel.
:)))
The app in itself works pretty fine, they have a pretty large choice of audiobooks and a wide range of genres to choose from. Audiobooks.com also has great customer service. They reply fast and are incredibly helpful, I cannot stress this enough.
I've tried to cancel my subscription…
I've tried to cancel my subscription for months and they don't return calls or messages.
Plenty of titles, easy to use—but not worth the price
Audiobooks.com has a wide selection of titles, which is great, and I found the app to be simple and straightforward to use. However, the subscription price is just too high. I was paying nearly 18 euros per month for one audiobook credit, but many of the same audiobooks can be purchased individually for less elsewhere. Unfortunately, I don't see much value in staying subscribed under these conditions.
