As a previous Advisor who use to work…
As a previous Advisor who use to work at Echelon I'd say the company is crap even if you try the sue them their Director of Customer Service Randy Garrison mostly know as. The company is awful they left off way too many fired way too many people and still struggle. The bike are all made in China and cost around 10$ each.
Dreadful experience
Wish I looked at these before purchasing.
Sent a faulty machine and although complained inside the 30 day return period my specific request for return wasnt given till day 34 so no return allowed. Yet item is faulty?. 1 engineer down and still sounds awful. Never actually had it working baring an hour of fiddling from an engineer which gave about 30 minutes before the issue returned.
But as engineer marked as complete its a whole new issue to them.
Honestly biggest mistake buying from this company.
Machine quality is very poor and reluctance to take back their own faulty product
Superb equipment
Product quality is superb compared to the others in the space and competitively priced. The app could use some improvements though. I did the trial and just use the equipment on its own now.
I purchased a treadmill in March 2025…
I purchased a treadmill in March 2025 and have experienced nothing but issues since. Customer support has been extremely frustrating, attempting to troubleshoot over the phone and recommending part replacements without confirming whether they will actually resolve the problem. To make matters worse, the replacement part has been backordered for over a month.

5s Treadmill
I bought this treadmill expecting a great connected home-gym experience, but it’s been deeply frustrating.
The software consistently fails to update — it just times out or hangs, even with a solid Wi-Fi connection. Every time I have contacted technical support, I was walked through the same basic troubleshooting steps — steps I’ve already done dozens of times — with no escalation and no technician recommendation.
As I have looked into it, online user discussions confirm that many owners struggle with firmware and tablet update problems, often needing repeated power-cycles or complex workarounds just to get updates to complete. Many users agree there are numerous reports of connectivity issues, update failures, and poor customer service for Echelon equipment. Exactly my experience.
I’ve had good experiences with some Echelon products in the past ( a bike and a rower--both of which I used my own iPad to connect), but after this treadmill and the weak support I received, I’ve lost confidence in the brand and won’t buy another Echelon product.
Do not buy one of these they are now…
Do not buy one of these they are now locked to the subscription model. If you buy a used bike do not upgrade the firmware and use the QZ app.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Completely refused to send any spare parts while bike stopped functioning without any reasons.
Would not recommend their product
Customer service is horrible
Customer service is horrible. They never showed to install my treadmill after I paid for premium service. Never received my Amazon gift card. DON’T BUY FROM THEM!!!!
Akin to a scamming fraudulent business.
The coach themself was lovely. However, the website doesn’t allow essential functions, like cancelling your plan. Also, the customer service number printed on their invoices is disconnected. You can’t actually add information about sessions from their website on to your calendar. I tried downloading the app and it wouldn’t even let me sign in. This is a failing scamming business that needs to be shut down. I have reported them to the FTC. Even though they have a “policy” for cancellations, the cancel feature on the website is no where to be found.
🔴 DO NOT BUY FROM ECHELON
🔴 DO NOT BUY FROM ECHELON – FINAL WARNING
⭐ 1 Star
Do NOT buy from this company.
I paid thousands of dollars for an Echelon Stride 7s. The unit arrived defective and did not work. Echelon approved a replacement, but it has now been OVER 3 WEEKS of lies and false delivery promises.
Every week there is a new excuse:
• “The delivery team was there” — nobody came
• Endless transfers between different service departments
• Drivers saying “we will be there today” — no one shows up
• Latest excuse: “flat tire”
This company has no coordination, no accountability, and no real customer service. Once they take your money, it feels like the company does not exist operationally.
I have now given Echelon a final 48-hour notice to deliver the approved replacement Stride 7s.
I am NOT requesting a refund — I want the product I paid for.
If delivery is not completed or properly confirmed, I will proceed with legal action for fraud, misrepresentation, and breach of contract, and file complaints with consumer-protection authorities.
I strongly warn anyone considering Echelon: save your time, money, and stress — DO NOT BUY.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Website for members absurd and no direction on renewing membership and activating. I'm getting a different bike. I'm over it. I waited over and hour and half and gave up waiting on customer service. Don't buy!

Echelon is Shite here too
Just in case you thought the abysmal experience was restricted to the USA, I’m based in Ireland and this is probably the most useless company I have ever dealt with. I have the bike and there are no live classes whatsoever and am down to 2 on-demand classes. 2!
And as everyone has said, I have to connect to the (absolutely crap) app to make it work at all. And my subscription is 35 euro a month.
Believe me, I wanted a Peleton- but it’s not available in Ireland!

Fraudulent service by Echelon on my recent purchases
I bought an Echelon Stride-6 for my birthday, and had frankly fraudulent experience with Echelon. We paid for the Treadmill at $1499.99, plus $399.99 for ‘white-glove’ delivery and assembly (as opposed to standard delivery) AND additionally an Echelon equipment mat $59.99, and a mandatory monthly subscription valued at $39.99/month Issue: 1. on the delivery day, there was NO ‘white-gloved’ service or assembly on the day. 2. There was non-delivery of the Echelon equipment mat.
Despite writing and follow-up to their customer service twice, no response has been provided. Non-existent service.
Conclusion: This company is a scam and overcharges for services and equipment that remains undelivered. I will be reporting to the government regulator if these issues are not resolved immediately.

Echelon Stride-6S
I have the Echelon Stride-6S, thinking I was getting a premium treadmill with a built in screen for workouts and entertainment. In reality, it’s a very expensive mid range treadmill with a screen that is almost completely useless unless you pay an ongoing subscription of around £300-400 a year.
The issues:
- Locked features: You cannot even use the built in screen for basic things like YouTube or Netflix without paying for their subscription. Free mode only gives you basic metrics like speed and incline.
- Forced sign up: You can’t even create an account or activate the treadmill without handing over credit card details first.
- Hardware is average: The treadmill itself is fine, but nothing special. I own a Decathlon treadmill that cost less than half the price, is more compact, more stable, and has a similar top speed and incline.
- Hidden ongoing cost: The “premium” price tag is for the software ecosystem, but then you have to keep paying hundreds every year to actually use the screen you already bought.
Overall, this treadmill feels like a trap. You pay a lot up front for hardware, then discover that most of what makes it “premium” is paywalled. Unless you specifically want Echelon’s subscription classes, and wanted to fork over a huge amount for the product, and then again every month in ongoing sun costs, this product is very poor value.
Save your money and buy a treadmill from Decathlon, NordicTrack, or ProForm, you’ll get equal or better hardware, much better customer service, all without being locked into an expensive subscription for features that should be standard.
Brand new faulty product, pathetic quality! AVOID AT ALL COST!
I am leaving one star as I am unable to leave a zero. I ordered Echelon Stride30 Sport treadmill from sweatband.com. I assembled it asn up on turning it on, it is constantly beeping, displaying U0.6 on the lcd screen. No button on the console is working. Unable to get the treadmill working except for the continuously annoying beep sound. I checked the user manual but couldn't find any such U0.6 error. I contacted echelon support and they told me that it is not an error but a firmware update. They asked me to opt for a subscription, download the app and update the firmware. They said for that I have to connect my phone to the Bluetooth, they ignored the fact tgat nothing on the threadmill is working. I followed each step they recommended but the treadmill is not available to connect via bluetooth. I have been sending them the videos of twh troubleshooting steps that they recommended. They asked me to rewire the console which I did but no luck. Finally, they said that they need to send an engineer to look into it and that the current lead time for an engineer to visit is 10-14 working days. It all happened with a brand new (sealed) product, so, Imagine the kind of quality checks and control they have at echelonfit and how substandard/sub-par brand this is. I am supposed to start a 6-week fitness challenge and look like I need to look for alternatives.

Once the free trial runs out be…
Once the free trial runs out be prepared to fork out a minimum of $38 per month. The bike is virtually a dead weight without a subscription. Cancel or turn of auto-renew. Their live sessions have dwindled. You have been warned. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

The app is useless for the echelon…
The app is useless for the echelon stride. The equipment is listed. Once you hit the screen it goes to the previous screen. I have removed the app and reinstalled it. The same issue.
The control panel on the treadmill has a 50/50 shot of working.
How do they stay in business with such poor service?
Zero star experience
I bought an Echelon product to own it, not to rent it. But after a recent forced software update, the bike I paid for now requires an internet connection just to function, even in basic mode. Want to ride offline? Too bad. Want to use your favorite training app instead of theirs? Locked out. This is beyond user-hostile — it’s vendor control taken to a dystopian level.
They’ve essentially crippled the hardware I paid for, unless I agree to their terms and subscriptions. If you travel, live somewhere with bad connectivity, or simply value freedom of use, stay far away.
I will never recommend Echelon to anyone again. Anti-consumer, anti-choice, and completely tone-deaf to how real users actually use their equipment. Shameful move.
Zero stars; No thanks Echelon
Zero stars. I have zero trust in this company and would never buy an Echelon again. They sell you a bike that can't work without a signing up for a membership, then they charge you automatically when that free trial runs out. All iw anted was to use the bike, I didnt need classes. It requires the app to even just use Free Ride. They don't have anywhere in the app to cancel it, and then say if you contacted them 48 hours after being charge, they can't refund. But offered me the "chance" to pay $38 a month instead. Shm, horrible. Never again.

Update to nowhere...
I guess given all the 1 star reviews Echelon does not care... anyways, I promised the customer service chat agent I would make myself heard.
First, I love the EX5s bike (Except the way you select the resistance level) - it is holding up very well and went through over 550 rides so far.
Recently we had to exchange the display which was handled under warranty really well and hassle free.
HOWEVER now that we have a shiny new monitor - maybe also because of the shiny new system on it - we have lost all our workout history and the user experience has change for the worse not showing any ranking in the remaining few free rides. YOU HAVE TO PAY just to see your personal statistics which is really ridiculous when you buy an expensive, connected piece of exercise equipment.
Customer service was not able to help other than repeating presciption prescription prescription... sad... wish I could have my old experience back but oh well... this is a way to turn customers away and damage your reputation and ultimately brand... wish Echelon would care...
