dreadful communication and customer service! oil never arrived on due date had £1300 of ours since 28January - I have spent hours on phone as completely out of oil (we ar both over 70) - no message , - another call to Certas as parent company to HFD, as absolutely NO way to contact HFD to be told lorry breakdown (can happen) and would be at least another 2 days!! but still NO communication from them but wouldnt be told anyway until after 4 today,no guarantee we were near the top of the list!! I found a local Certas depot today, drove down, delightful manager and driver and oil delivered within the hour!!!! Had I not done that I doubt we would have had oil this side of the weekend , today Wednesday - now hoping boiler restarts or expensive plumber bill too

Do not be suckered into using this company by seemingly low prices. I placed an order on 26th January 2026. Delivery was finally notified for 2 weeks later on 9th February, by which time our oil had run out. I remained home all day as access needs to be given, Delivery failed to arrive. Unable to contact Homefuels Direct by telephone (No telephone number provided - just an e-mail facility). I was contacted & promised an urgent delivery 2 days later on 11th February. Delivery failed to arrive. I was contacted by a woman from Certas Energy who informed me that driver had attempted access but couldn't as he was driving a 6 wheeler. When working from home, my office overlooks the road. No attempt at delivery was made. We have CCTV on the premises. No attempt was made, although our regular weekly rubbish collection was made by a Denis 6 wheeled vehicle. We have electronic gates on the property with an access telephone. No call was made. We are now approaching 3 weeks since the order was placed & still no oil. HomeFuels Direct are hopelessly incompetent and unable to fulfil their contracts.

Not 5-7 working days + no comms DON'T USE
Tank running unexpectedly very low, and found a most affordable oil with expected 5-7 working days delivery (OK, "however, this cannot always be guaranteed.) Ordered 3rd Feb, and suddenly it is 10-11 working days delivery!! No way of contacting other than via web form (twice) but no reply for 6 days. Found out HFD are owned by Certas and rang them. Initially helpful, but even when THEY said they'd try to push the order forward and get back to me as soon as they knew anything, they didn't. Depot confirmed order is for 17th Feb when we will be out of oil, and Certas will get any repairs bill. Comms and expectation management need improving big time.

HomeFuels Direct quoted me a much lower price than my regular supplier and their quote was even lower than the price comparison site that I sometimes use. When I say much lower it was actually £45.25 lower!!! Plus ordering was such an easy process.....very happy.

Awful communication and experience feel very let down
I ordered my oil on the 24/1/26 told it would be delivered on the 30/1/26, it never arrived. Used the online contact and received curt reply saying tanker had broken down and I was still in my time windows of up to 6/2/26. Nothing arrived on the 6th and was told it would be delivered on 7/2/26 nothing arrived. Contacted them on the 9/2/26 and asked why i was still in delivery scheduling only to be told they were cancelling my order because it required a baby tanker and the supplier did not have one despite me requesting a baby tanker and my previous orders had been delivered by a baby tanker. There is no proactive comms when things go wrong I was just left to keep chasing. I was told I would get refund in 3 to 5 days but my order is still showing in delivery scheduling and I have little confidence the refund will come through. I am poised ready to action a section 75 claim via my credit card. The telephone agents clearly are not joined up with the company and just want to get you off the phone ASAP. Awful experience from start to present and I would advise consumers avoid at all costs and pay a little more for a more reliable operator. Let's see if my refund arrives.

Dreadful customer service and failure to meet delivery time
Dreadful. Lure you in with competitive pricing, but when the delivery is a no show there is no way to speak to anyone to find out why. On Weds morning the Track my Order feature said 'scheduling delivery for Monday', on Monday, the tracker said last update the previous Weds. No fuel, no way to speak to anyone, had to wait 24 hours in the hope the website message might reach someone. I'd rather pay more and go with an alternative supplier. Owned by Certas, who when I called said they could only message a depot and I had to wait a further 24 hours. It's the winter, I asked for a named delivery date and paid a premium because I was low on oil. I've since run out.
UPDATE: I can see a response from HomeFuels. I’ve already emailed that address with no response. I received a text and email confirming the delivery would be yesterday. It was a no show. If I could remove the one star I would
