This company is so dodgy. There are no options for a phone call to speak to a representative and they have a funny grasp of the English language. I have paid twice now for the year cause they didn't charge me the first time and then the quote changed to double the money. I am paying for the year to have peace of mind but when there is no proper communication what are we doing here?

They don't let me cancel a contract I never signed and it started to smell fishy.

I unknowingly inherited the contract by buying a house with an ongoing HUK24 insurance. Towards the ending of it, I got a letter stating it would renew and I owed them. Seeing my name in the letter made me realise they used a legal way to transfer it to my name.

The letter I got clearly says I have a right to cancel within 15 days, which starts either when I get that letter or when a new contract begins. So, I contacted them but they told me to create an online account and cancel from there. OK, I created an online account for their webpage and tried to cancel there. But it did not work! A customer representative said I needed to wait till the new year, till the existing contract ends and only then I could cancel the new contract which would be on my name.

Guess what? Since the beginning of the year, I am trying to cancel it but now it says it can only be cancelled in 2027, after I forcefully pay them for a year. Customer support do not reply back to my tickets, obviously waiting for the 15-day legal cancel window. I sent them a letter as well but hoping no reply from it, either.

I honestly don't know about how good the insurance part of HUK24, but the contract managing experience so far feels like a trap for me.

I wanted to cancel it so badly because I already have an uncancelable insurance till 2027 from a bank, and then I would switch to HUK24 as the previous owner of the house said good things about it but at this point I am simply thinking about lawyering up.

Edit: Credit where credit is due. HUK24 reached up and solved the problem. I must admit, they acted couple hours before this review got online, so it is not to get the negative review deleted. Thanks HUK24.

HUK24 is very trustworthy. After leaving Germany, I have had issues cancelling almost every service, and HUK24 is the only one that is very understanding, credible, responsive and efficient. It never tries to scam money like others do. I recommend it to everyone.

A month ago i sent an email with a Kostenvoranschlag for approval and till now i still have no answer.
During this month i called 3 times, wrote 2 emails and no one gave me a useful information and just today i was told that i still have to wait further.
Is it normal to wait a month for a Kostenvoranschlag Genehmigung?
