Just great. Lovely company. Cant recommend them high enough. Informative, friendly and totally professional. Thanks guys. David from Devon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bought a Rickenbacker bass from these guys recently. Have bought other Rickenbackers from them too. Always an absolute pleasure to deal with these guys (usually Evan or Dan.) The guitars always turn up safe and well in good time. Polite, professional and punctual - can’t recommend them enough.
Very disappointing experience. I ordered Hello Kitty Fender cables as a Christmas present for my wife, but they arrived with black marks and faded, old packaging. I wiped the marks with a damp cloth before sending the cables back but the marks were still visible (I even sent a photo as proof).
When I returned them, the company claimed the marks "wiped off with a finger" and then deducted a 10% admin fee from my refund and would not refund the £7 delivery charge I paid. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, retailers cannot charge admin or handling fees for returns made under the right to cancel and must refund any delivery costs, so this breaks consumer rules.
I bought the same cables directly from Fender instead, which were genuinely new and immaculate. Wouldn’t recommend this company.
Amazing setup on my player telecaster, frets and nut sorted out and setup for 10s and is like a different guitar. Definitely a major upgrade and literally ‘plays like butter’! Brilliant friendly service, would highly recommend 🙏 🎸
Fantastic shop I have a Gibson Les paul standard which sounded great but had a few problems , I had another technician have a go but made no difference , I took it to Jimmy Egypt's & now it's my number one guitar
After a slight issue with my order (as happens), Evie at Jimmy Egypt was absolutely brilliant in proactively identifying it, getting in touch with me and resolving as quickly as possible. Very much value all the help and some extra little bits were even sent out to me - which wasn’t necessary but was a really thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Would certainly recommend. Thanks again.
Excellent music store. Been coming here for few years now for guitar set ups and repairs and the jobs are always done quickly to high quality standards.
Brilliant service, friendly staff, good prices and top notch workmanship.
I just thought I'd leave a review of my brilliant experience with Jimmy Egypt and Sons Musical Instruments store.
I inherited an “attic find” Hagstrom acoustic guitar, which was in quite a bad state. I took the guitar along to Jimmy Egypt’s West End store, and chatted with Jimmy to see if he would be willing to take on the guitar for a full repair and restoration. Jimmy kindly took on the work, and did a fantastic job with restoring my old guitar.
Jimmy offered a reasonable price for the work, and perhaps most importantly, demonstrated amazing knowledge, craftsmanship and general workmanship with all aspects of the guitar. He brought the guitar up to the best standard that I have ever seen it in my lifetime. The difference in playing action is quite incredible. (The guitar was barely playable beforehand. Now, as well as looking and feeling its best, the action is excellent.)
I also chatted with Jimmy’s son, Evan, over email, about the guitar. Evan was conscientious and very helpful also.
All things considered, I would have absolutely no qualms about recommending the services of Jimmy Egypt and Sons Musical Instruments store to a friend, especially for restorations and repairs.
Independent, family-run music shop specialising in service with a smile!
Always top quality work and advice - no one else comes close.
My favourite music store. Had guitars refretted, set ups and repairs over the years. Only place id trust with my prize possessions :) always friendly and great service. Highly recommended
A great service right from the start. I had a question to ask about an amp that I wanted to buy. The phone was answered right away, and my query was dealt with in a friendly and professional manner. What really impressed me is that, I ordered the unit online on a Saturday. The email telling me that my item has been dispatched arrived quickly after, and then the unit arrived the next day... on Easter Sunday!!!
The item was well packaged, and the Phil Jones nanobass X4 is excellent.
I am confident that, should an issue arise, this company would sort it out.
Always go the extra mile.
Patiently helped me with choosing a guitar in their store last Winter. They setup the guitar in front of me and let me choose whichever strings I wanted on the guitar. Also gave me a great deal on all the accessories I needed.
I came back a year later and they setup my guitar again for free, only charging me a set of strings.
Very helpful and honest guys here. They really do care about their customers!
I ordered online as their prices were the better than the bigger shops, then luckily for me they had a further 5% off my chosen guitar. I saved £250 on my new guitar. Information on their website was just enough for me. I rang to make an enquiry, lady was helpful and pleasant enough. Guitar arrived within 72 hours well packaged. I was really pleased with my purchase. I would buy from them again.
Visited the new shop near Mono and thought it was cool.
Some great guitars on the wall, staff a bit unapproachable but great guitars.
They are selling customer return/ex-display guitars as new, without, box, tag and allen key and sending out wrong item without taking responsibility. They are a Cort authorised dealer, but do not know what colours their guitars are available. They say that a walnut guitar is actually black. Eve, their customer support told me that she has arranged return, but the courier has not showed up. Unprofessional company despite being a "family owned" business.
