Undeserved negative reviews
I have just recommended this company to a friend but was subsequently disappointed to read so many negative reviews. I used them 8 yrs ago after they were recommended to me by a well known high street bank's customer services adviser who had used them herself. I was able to draw up a bespoke loan contract with a friend and we were both extremely satisfied with the result. Having made use of the 7 day free trial period and printed off the contract, I easily cancelled the provisional subscription as instructed with no problems. Reading between the lines of the negative reviews it seems that some customers claim to be charged for the trial period and others claim that payments were taken without their authority after the trial period expired. The reality is that every customer has to provide card details in case they decide to automatically continue the subscription after the 7 day trial expires. If they do not wish this to happen the onus falls on the customer to cancel their provisional subscription online within the 7 days. Simple as that, yet so many complainants are clearly unfairly blaming this company for their own failings.
Really bad experience with this…
Really bad experience with this company. I work for a charity and used the trial to help with a one off document. Signed in for monthly fees and refused to refund even though never used the service or even logged in. No email receipts or communication to show that they were taking the money. Really unethical business model.
This is a scam and fraudulent company
AVOID LIKE PLAGUE
This is a scam and fraudulent company . They are taking regular payments from my account without consent or authority. £47 each time even trying twice in one day.
There is no standing charge or direct debit set up and they have sent no email to confirm any subscription or that a payment has been taken
Documents do not stand up in court
Documents do not stand up in court, had my case thrown out and have to pay a solicitor to draw it up plus pay the court fee again. Guess they know this cause I asked for a refund and they sent it straight away. No apology.
wasted my time
WATCH OUT
Described as 'Free', then BAM! issue £47 Monthly Invoice, although listed as £9
Disgusting, now expecting a refund
Advertises as free - can't see their privacy policy
Advertises as free, but in fact requires credit card - but not until you have completed the process.
Plus - where is their privacy policy after they've collected all your data?
terrible docs & functionality
Laborious process to get to the end result of a fairly poor document... which is only revealed once you've entered card details.
Then the kicker is you can only download pdf or HTML - no idea why they haven't made word doc downloading a thing (since every markup ever is done in word).
Raised the issue with their customer team and was told HTML does work as a workaround for word... but the format gets all screwed up when editing or putting into google docs.
Sham company with poor documents, I'd avoid.
Advertised a Scottish will service that does not exist,…
Asked for a will valid in Scotland as advertised on their web site.I started to fill in the form and while filling in my address it auto filled Wales .I then checked trustpilot and realised this is an unreliable company'They advertise a free service which they charge you for.
Absurd Fees for Basic Customer Service
Do not use their e-sign and do not agree to sign any documents that use their e-sign service!
It is a complete scam as they refuse to provide verification that a document you signed was genuinely signed by the other parties without charging around $500 for their own internal lawyer.
Normal services like Docusign enable all signers to see the audit trail and verify that all signers were legitimate.
In my situation, one party on a contract is claiming he never signed it. I contacted their customer service to verify his signature, and they told me I need to contact their legal team. The legal team refused to verify the contract I signed using their service without a court subpoena and charging $500 in lawyer fees. I wish I was joking.
They keep trying to say "we cannot give access to other people's data" as a way to shut me down, but I am not asking for other people's data...I am asking to verify their own record of this document that I signed. It seems like they try to say this is other people's personal data as a way to extort you with their overpriced lawyer's processing fees.
What is absolute basic customer service for all other document signing service is an expensive legal mess with Law Depot. Really does make me wonder how easy it is for someone to have forged a signature through their service if they hide signer verification that aggressively.
I use them regularly
I use their service for my lodgers tenancy agreement. I sign up for the one week free trial and cancell before the week expires This is a great way to get a legal documentation done online without having to worry about small print. They have formats that work for different region and you can edit the document with your hearts content !
They charged me nothing for the privilege and gave me the documents I requested. Every time!!
SCAM
SCAM! As their website popped up as offering a FREE Section 8 notice, and I spent 30mins filling all information in, what happens!? Of course they attempt to charge. So now I’m facing a decision to scrape my time as completely wasted or to pay since I’ve invested the time already.
total waste of time.
total waste of time.
they make you go though the entire process of entering all the information and then after you have spent all the time adding in the info THEN they ask you for payment.
ITS NOT FREE
don't waste your time,,,
Don't use them!
Dreadful experience with these people. Had to sign up to view what they could offer me, then cancelled only to find they charged me £47 anyway! Spoke to a really snotty woman in America who basically told me it was my problem. Rude, unhelpful and definitely won't consider using them again.
False Claim
Claimed they offered a free service to do a shareholder agreement, went through the whole process and then they tried to charge for it.

I paid for a one-year subscription to download legal documents but was only able to download a single document. Every attempt to download additional documents failed. I contacted customer service, and instead of helping, they insisted there was nothing wrong with my account and implied I was using the service incorrectly.
Unfortunately, I had to piece together the document myself—completely defeating the purpose of paying for this service. I emailed again to complain and never received a reply. No resolution, no support, no care.
This feels like a scam. You promise access to legal documents for a year, but deliver something completely different and then ignore legitimate concerns. I strongly advise others to avoid this service.
This company deserves 0 star.

They advertise a free tenancy agreement for download then waste 15 minutes of your time filling in the details of the tenancy and at the end tell you that you have to take out a subscription to download it. They are timewasting scam artists.
