Craig is a great teacher!
Craig is a great teacher who offers a clear and concise approach to teaching the fundamentals of Ableton Live. As I work through the lessons I feel more confident in my ability to express myself creatively through music.
Excellent Ableton Live instruction
Excellent Ableton Live instruction. Also the Push 3 course and Live Performance course are fantastic as well. I highly recommend!
The Push Patterns course is the best one…
The Push Patterns course is the best one I’ve taken in years—not just because of the straightforward explanations, but also due to the instructor’s willingness to provide prompt answers and feedback for any questions that arise. It’s structured into clear, practical modules that make it easy to put what you’ve learned into practice right away. I highly recommend it: 10/10.
I am a complete beginner with no music…
I am a complete beginner with no music theory knowledge or experience just doing this for fun. The tutorials are really good, and exactly the right length to get through one in the evening with some pratice. I also really appreciate that even some of the early ones have been updated recently. The presentation is excellent, and the level is perfect for someone like me, but I am sure someone more experienced would find it just as usful as I do as they could move through the lessons more quickly to see what is new, or get a few refreshers.
Ableton Life 12.1 Course
Got the course at a great discounted price, that said I’d seen several of Craig’s youtube videos and was impressed enough to go for it. Love Craig’s teaching style, it’s clear, simple and easy to understand (I’m 70 years young and had nothing to do with music since high school) so Craig’s methods were important to me. The course is broken down into really manageable bite(byte ?😂) size chunks so I can dip in and out as time allows. Finally (who’d have thought) this aged rocker is actually getting into the more modern day beats😱 yeah the grand kids can’t believe it either😂😂😂 Huge thanks to Craig at Push Patterns 👏👏👏
PushPatterns, Ableton’s Best Complete Personal Online Course
Let me just stat by saying Push Patterns is the go to Site to learn Ableton.
Craig is like the most knowledgeable instructor that one could hope for.
He is like a personal friend guiding you thru this course.
He also actually answered my emails to him when I had a question on a part of the course.
I have taken 3 different online Ableton courses. None of them comes close to PushPatterns. They just took my money and ran, leaving me to fend for myself.
Craig is an accomplished musician, producer and a very patient Ableton Instructor.
I’m looking forward to finishing this course and hope he will be offering other courses as well. Either way I’m am well on my way to creating my musical journey using Ableton.
Thank you Craig for the musical education in teaching me not only how to use Ableton but also to understand what and why I do there to create the music I love.
Again thank you Craig and keep music alive.
Best Regards, James
The Push Patterns Course is Dope!!
The Push Patterns course so far has been both informative and exciting. I’m only three modules in at this point, but I am already learning a great many new techniques and creative approaches/ideas and beginning to apply them in my personal music making. Craig is very easy to follow and understand and his relationship with his students is encouraging and interactive.
Worth the time and the money
I've used Live and Push for almost 10 years but I've never felt as thought I'm getting all the bang for my buck. I took a chance on the Push Pattern course for both Push 3 Standalone and Live and my skill level has grown dramatically. I can't say enough about the content, organization and value -- all are 5 stars. Next for me is the performance course. Time to take this out and play :)
A must buy for Push 3 learners
Absolutely loved this course. I had already had experience on the push 3, but I wanted to deep dive and learn a bunch of cool things that I wasn’t picking up from the manual. Push Patterns did an excellent job of laying out the material and keeping it succinct and fun,
Best Ableton course
There are many, many videos, sites and courses out there devoted to teaching Ableton Live, but Push Patterns is definitely the most indepth and structured course that I've come across. Craig offers loads of content for free, but his paid course is really excellent value for money.
Ableton Live isn't overwhelmingly difficult - it just does a LOT of different things - and Push Patterns represents a fantastic resource for learning / refreshing Ableton skills to which you can return again and again. Whatever kind of music you're hoping to make with Ableton, I highly recommend Push Patterns.
Very good course to learn all the ins & outs.
Pretty nicely structured course that takes into account both beginner and intermediate levels. Particularly the duration of each section is rather short and specific which helps not to lose focus while watching it, especially for ADHD people like myself. Also like the fact that it’s evergreen and will keep on developing/updating as Push 3 grows further! Thanks to Craig for this great piece of educational content!
Technic al problem
Excellent availability and professionalism, I was guided on how to resolve a technical issue, and I was also assisted by sending adequate documentation.
A solid Complete Walkthrough of the Ableton Push 3 - That is kept up to date.
I did most of this some time ago, but finally went back and worked through the last couple modules and a review was requested.
This is an extremely detailed walk through of every major feature of the device, and as new features are added, updated videos are added to cover the new feature. It will let you know and show you as 'not finished' so you can easily find where there are updates.
I know in the world of 5 star reviews or nothing a 4 star review might seem bad, but I found this to be well worth its money, but I also struggled with a few things that I wasn't able to figure out from the video.
I am mostly using my Push 3 stand alone, so a lot of times referring back to live to do something that I later figured out might be doable on the push (Matrix for Wavetable a big one) was shown on live while I was trying to learn it on stand alone.
I also had hoped to some more examples of playing the pads for musical notes. There are mutiple ways you can play notes, and I have struggled with this in the less than a year I've owned my push coming from a Piano player. There is a solid examples on the 4th layout, but I'm weird and wanted flat 5s and 9ths and a few other things that are hidden, so going chromatic.
So, this is probably a five star review for most people, but there were some areas I struggled with related to my musical journey.
One thing I wish the system used to present the videos remembered the volume settings, for some reason on my computer (Mac w/Safari) whenever it starts a new video it resets to FULL VOLUME on the video, and I adjust it down, and then next video is FULL VOLUME.
Get with Craig and Live 12.1. etc.
Watching Craig work through the various configurations with each parameter offers a learning technique I have found enjoyable. Having fun with Live 12.1.???? is what makes his approach the best. Humble and effective teaching style, I don't regret a penny spent on his classes. I did not give five stars because I am only 3 modules in. I look forward to the next lesson and quiz.
Life saver!
A must have if you want to skip long hours of fumbling around and reading the manual. This course helps save you time and frustration in the ever changing fast paced music industry. My clients want fast production and professional results. This course is a lifesaver worth every penny. Thank you Craig!!
This course is excellent
This course is excellent, even for someone who knows nothing about music production. I am a musician but knew nothing about production until taking this course. Now I feel I am really getting somewhere and am confident in my ability to make my own recordings. This step-by-step approach really works for me.
I've tried doing several ableton…
I've tried doing several ableton courses but this is the only one which enables me to understand clearly what you are trying to achieve and how to go about that process.
Highly recommended
Love the way the lessons are structured…
Love the way the lessons are structured and the fact that Craig gives a recap with some exercises to practice the techniques. He comes across as very sympathetic and passionate about what he’s doing. He’s also quick as replying to his students. Best tutorial I’ve done so far. Would highly recommend his lessons.
Craig, an excellent Ableton coach
Craig,
You did an excellent job with the course.
I am very happy with the indept course.
A lot of time you spend in this course with the goal to teach Ableton beginners.
I learn a lot and the examples during this course, was great.

Accessibility to difficulty through learning.
It's really hard to learn a sophisticated instrument like Push 3 and this course really helps those to get through the rough hurdles in mastering an instrument that is a new invention in the electronic music field.
