Unskilled/Inexperienced Taskers
Used TaskRabbit multiple times throughout many years for my business and it has gotten worse year by year and will no longer use it. The support fees has constantly gone up, there are better platforms and most importantly the value of Taskers has decline significantly. The Tasker market has been oversaturated with new Taskers, with very little experience. Came across a former Tasker on another handyman platform who I have used several times in the past from Taskrabbit, which I was grateful for and he told me Taskrabbit shadow banned him for very minor reasons and heard similar stories from others as well . It’s sad how Taskrabbit has gotten so greedy and unfair to veteran Taskers at the same time.

Buyers beware of the unexpected …
There were some schedulung issues with the tasker. I was scheduled for 1:30pm, however the tasker texted me the day of informing me he would be an hour late. Needless to say, the tasker did eventually arrive at the original time of 1:30pm. The tasker showed up in the lobby of my building with a friend, after completing the work he asked for an additional $50 for me to pay his friend. I did Zelle the tasker an additional $50 dollars. I believe the tasker should have informed me of the additional payment upon his arrival, as well as his friend would also be assisting him. Honestly, I felt like he "shook me down" to obtain additional money. Clients beware of unexpected visitors and charges.
Finally, the tasker and "his friend"completed the task in one hour and 15 minutes and I love the finished product. Unfortunately, I can not in good conscious recommend him for future projects.
P.S- the tasker spoke to his friend the entire time in a language other than English. This is where I believe he and his friend discussed obtaining more money from me.

Communitations could be a hell of a lot easier and more open
I've found some wonderful help off of TaskRabbit. What I don't like is the fact that once a project is done and closed out it is next to impossible to simply message with a "Tasker" you have used before.
I've tried going back to my old projects to arrange new work with Taskers I've used and the app or website will not allow you to communicate with them again to arrange times that work both ways without opening an entirely new project first. Or, if the project is a bit outside their area it also closes you down--even if the tasker previously indicated in person that they were interested. WTF is the purpose of this!!!
You keep the communications so tight by not allowing ongoing communications without a task in place that it's become a pain in the ass to use the service. This is a disservice to both the tasker and the consumer.
And you try to force the use of your app even if someone does not use Apps for communications!!
Again WTF! I am so sick and tired of businesses assuming everyone is willing to download an app to your personal device. I don't use apps, far to many of them assume they have the right to collect information from my device that I DO NOT want them to collect. That just opens the user to ID theft. I know to much about the dangers of that to be willing to willy nilly download apps.
SO, I use TaskRabbit only when I cannot find help via other avenues. It's simply too frustrating when I can't simply message my favorites to try to arrange future work before I create a job.
...and when you are creating online forms, why do you force the user to delete the sample text you provide vs. setting up the UI so it automatically overwrites your sample text as soon as the users starts to type something different. This is just basic common sense when creating a web form. Then again I should not be surprised that you don't look at how things flow for the actually user. I suspect that also means you don't do ANY user testing which is a basic process flow or should be basic procedure when setting up any user facing interactive pages. Then again I only spent half of my career in UI and the other half in product marketing so what would I know.

Great task person; not great connection with supplier
Our task person was very nice and thorough, but it was obvious he was coming into the project blind when I understood from the vendor I purchased the product from, that these were going to be experienced installers. It was a little frustrating to learn that was not the case and a project I thought would only take a few hours turned out to take two full days.

Does not speak English
I engaged Aleksandr for a simple plumbing task. He is Russian. He does not speak English at all. It was nearly impossible to communicate. He was also more than a hour late, and he apologized profusely for an error that he could not explain to me using the translation app on his phone. He did the work OK, I think, and I think he was honest and sincere, but it was awkward and difficult. Why the hell would I hire someone who does not speak any of my languages?
