Thousands of Dollars Lost in Revenue. Business Owners Beware.

I bought the SE-400 for my professional electronics repair business, expecting a reliable tool. Instead, I received a factory defect and a support experience that has cost me thousands of dollars in lost productivity and downtime.
The Financial Impact:
This isn't a hobby for me; it's my livelihood. Because AmScope sent a unit with improper machining (the right eyepiece housing wasn't threaded, making it unusable), my entire workflow ground to a halt. In the time it has taken them to acknowledge and address this, I have lost revenue that exceeds the value of this microscope ten times over.
The Negligence:
Mistakes happen, but AmScope’s handling of them is inexcusable. I clearly explained the housing defect in my first email. The support agent (Maria S.) didn't bother to read it, assumed it was a bad eyepiece, and mailed me a useless replacement part. This incompetence added over a week of unnecessary downtime while I waited for a fix that didn't work.
The Refusal to Make it Right:
When I finally reached a supervisor (Vanessa Rocha) to mitigate the massive financial damage their delay caused, I was told the agent "followed policy correctly." If your policy involves ignoring customer emails and wasting days of a professional's time, your business is broken. They refused to even expedite the shipping on the replacement unit to help recover the lost time.
The Verdict:
If you are a professional who values your time and income, do not buy from AmScope. Their quality control is non-existent, and their support team does not care about the cost their errors inflict on your business.

Disappointing

I bought this microscope with lots of hope but I was very disappointed with its performance. The image quality is poor, with blurry details and weak resolution, making it difficult to see anything clearly. The built-in light source is too dim to properly illuminate specimens, which severely impacts usability. Additionally, it didn’t come with a glass lamella, which is essential for proper slide preparation. Overall, this microscope feels cheaply made and is not worth the price. I wanted to return it but realized there's huge restocking and return fees.

Bought B120

Bought B120. Microscope is not bad, but packaging is terrible. "1000" pieces flying around - lenses, cords etc. No convenient holder that would be easy to use and keep dust away. Tiny little illumination bulb powered by enormous, stiff power cord. You can buy a case ......... for another "1 million dollars". Cover made out of cheap plastic instead of soft cloth. USB camera viewing on PC only allows a small view window instead of full screen. I give the microscope a "5" and all above details deserve a "0" rating.

Wish I had read reviews before purchasing.

I read these reviews AFTER I had ordered the lamp with magnifier (more fool me) and this worried me as I had not received any information about the product delivery. In fact the link they send did not work (crashed out) so I looked at my “account” and found it had not been dispatched. I sent a note to customer service to say unless they provided a delivery date I would cancel given it had not been dispatched. All of a sudden I received an email to say it had been dispatched which of course then prevented me cancelling without paying a return postage - which from posts here I saw was high. Mainly because I found out the product was actually coming from Germany and not the UK as I originally thought (the company has offices in the UK).

I still didn’t have a delivery date and then one day it arrived followed by an email saying that there had been shipping delays that were outside of their control and I should receive it soon! They seem completely unaware of where things are and when they will be delivered.

Now all of that could be excused if the product was perfect and I have to say it works (at the moment) and I am happy with the functions. Unfortunately, this was a used/returned product. The lens had no film on it and was full of fingerprints and smudges (the lens has a plastic lid so no reason why it should be so dirty. Also there were dirty marks on the top of the lamp and another big giveaway was the cable ties being re-twisted which is usually an obvious sign of a return.

I am keeping the product because it works, does what I want and I have no confidence in their customer service. Not very happy at state of it on arrival (not packaged well either as outer box was pretty much open - ripped and tape hanging off - however due to delivery state, obviously used product, and customer service I can’t give more than 2 stars.

Don’t buy! Doesn’t work for long!

The microscope worked fine for a few uses but very quickly, the light stopped working.
We contacted the customer service who explained that a part needed to be changed and we had to pay £20 for it! We had the microscope for a few months and much have used it 5 times! When we said we shouldn’t pay for it since it was pretty much new, they said we have to. Don’t buy!

Can recommend

I recently ordered a petrographic microscope from Amscope. I've also read a lot of the bad reviews on this about them, so I was a bit worried. I can happily say that the scope works well and the customer support to my queries were very good (specifically a Maria S.). The one thing that was a bit annoying was that after I purchased it they said there would be a delay due to changing warehouses. It would have been nice to know the lead time before purchasing, but either way all good. From my experience with them, I am happy to recommend them.

They ignore emails and phone calls!

I bought 5 microscopes in April 2024, the quality was poor and I tried to get them sent back. After 2 weeks of trying, they eventually gave me a return number and documents to send them back. I waited and waited from May 15th for my refund...it never came even though they received their items back in the Netherlands... I emailed, called, left answer phone messages, emailed again, filled in their online customer forms....not one reply. I went through my bank to get help and chase up the refund, and all of a sudden Amscope decide to call me 2 days later and ask me to cancel my bank charge back function, as Amscope said they will refund immediately....I don't trust them as far as I can throw them! Avoid!!

Great support and good products

I bought an articulating arm with focusing rack and an anular led light from amscope.eu, the shipping has been really fast (bought it on Tuesday and got it delivered on Friday from Germany to Italy) I also opened a ticket to ask informations about shipping because after my purchase I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews and they replied and supported me in less than 24hours (also the support via e-mail has been great).
Products are really good for quality-price, the only “bad thing” I can complain on is the focusing rack that is to weak and if you apply a little bit of weight with fingers you can move it easily.
So far has been a great deal for my set up with a Zeiss 305 stereomicroscope head!

Be careful

Be careful ! you may receive another version (cheaper one, of course !) and you don't realise it. And you should pay for the return even though "THEY" have made mistake (or a dirty trick). To avoid return expenses, better contact headquarter and hope to be lucky.

Amscope Customer Service Stinks

I am satisfied with the microscope I ended up with. I’m not happy with Amscope’s terrible customer service.
Emailed them with a couple of questions about a microscope I was interested in. Their reply was to “look it up online.” Phoned Amscope the next time and talked to Brianna who promised to send the information I needed. Never received it. Anyway I ended up buying the wrong microscope and had to return it.
I guess Amscope’s philosophy is to keep buying until you find the one you want.
Unprofessional and a total waste of time.

Aweful Customer Service Response

We received our microscope on time. After that, things just got worse.
When we tried to set it up, the stage would not move properly. The gears did not engage right, and without that the stage/focus would not work.

Emails were sent, calls were made. Of the numerous times I attempted to call, I only was able to talk to a person once. She was very nice, and said they would be more than willing to send a replacement. I just had to send a video of the stage not working. I did that, then nothing. No response. Haven't been able to get back in touch with a person yet.

AVOID!!

Useless customer service and no reply…

Useless customer service and no reply to any emails. I order 6 scopes and my order was rerouted back tothe store after 5 days without informing me. I had to find out from FedEx that my order went back to the store before shipping. This delay cost me money and over 9 additional days. They never said sorry or explained why this happened. This company sucks and I hope these bad reviews damage their business because that's what they did to mine.

I purchased an expensive microscope…

I purchased an expensive microscope from AMSCOPE and the 40X objective is defective. They refused to send a replacement unless I paid for shipping. The camera has poor resolution and there is no software supporting this camera. The customer service made no effort to resolve my problem, I do not recommend this company.

When ordering an accessory for my microscope, it said that my card failed and that the order didn't process, I tried again and got the same message, then I went on my account mobile banking and see that the payment was taken out of my account twice!!!! Bad Business Horrible Customer Service!

I placed an order for a telescope on December 22, 2023, and I paid for FedEx Priority Overnight service ( a cost of $40.53). After the purchase was made, a day later I received a shipping notice saying the item wouldn’t be delivered until Tuesday after Christmas. It didn’t arrive until Wednesday after Christmas. After FedEx said I had to take this up with AmScope, I called to get a refund on shipping and was denied the refund because the customer service rep says they are closed on the weekend. While that might be true for the store, I always thought warehouses for various companies operated continuously, especially during holidays. AmScope should state that they have no warehouse and items are directly shipped from a store! Furthermore, the store needs to improve their website so if they don’t ship on the weekends your order won’t go through! No! They just accept your shipping amount and then refuse to refund you! Horrible customer service, sarcastic customer representatives, and such a scam!!! This was my first and last time ordering from AmScope! The one good review I read must have been written by a staff member/manager/owner to keep their store from looking totally criminal! I’m a ticked off customer!!!!!!!

Thieves

I should go below that but unfortunately I can’t go below.
I bought a microscope on 6th of November. No delivery. Ignored emails/ do not answer phone. Only got back to me when I reported them to the bank and threatened to report them to the police.
They are still looking for excuses but Im not going to let it go.

Worst customer service

Worst customer service! Never receive a response, they don't answer the phone, don't call back after you leave a message, don't respond to email or messages via their website. I emailed numerous time re:missing item in my $400 microscope order. Haven't heard back.
