Avoid this insurance like a plague. I repeat- avoid them and get your lawyer ready for any eventualities, as they are predators and fraud.
Here is the story:
I was insured freiwillig with them and because of my low income I was given a reduced amount, which is required by law. Then, mistakenly and gullibly I informed them that I was going to another country and will need to cancel my insurance. And stupid of me, I submitted my address and contract letter to show them evidence. I was trying to abide by the rules and do things by the book. They accepted the cancellation and confirmed I do not owe any thing and the account will be canceled. Then 2 days later a lady came back to say I owe them difference of what I need to pay if my income is in certain level. I replied the email and sent them evidence of the contract I signed stating the amount I was to pay and all my account payment. For the next 4 years, these fraud of an organization sent me letters to me and my old address adding charges to what they claim I owe. I continue to ignore; and then they went ahead to the social welfare department to request they remove whenever I retire from the amount. I mean, who does this fraudulent practice? I will eventually sue you guys when the time is right.
Folks, avoid them- Germany is full of their likes. Fraud and predators.
