False advertising is illegal
Zooplus advertises “free delivery” in promotional emails, yet imposes a €12.99 surcharge the moment a parcel exceeds 30 kg. That is not a minor technicality buried in logistics policy; it is a material limitation that directly contradicts the headline promise. If delivery is conditional, it is not free. Presenting it as such is, at best, careless and, at worst, deliberately misleading.
What makes this particularly frustrating is the absence of any clear disclosure in the promotional message itself. Nowhere does it state that “free delivery” only applies up to a specific weight threshold. Customers are led to believe that shipping costs will be waived. Only later, at checkout or after the fact, does the additional fee surface. That undermines trust and creates the impression that the company relies on fine print rather than transparency.
The argument that this pertains to “standard shipping” is irrelevant when the marketing communication makes an unqualified promise. If there are exclusions, they must be stated clearly and prominently. Anything less erodes credibility.
A company operating at scale should understand that clarity in pricing is not optional. Advertising free delivery while charging a substantial surcharge contradicts the plain meaning of the offer and reflects poorly on the brand’s commitment to honest communication.
I received pet food with a damaged packaging, unprofessional response from Zooplus
I received pet food with a damaged, non-airtight seal and contacted customer support.
This was the response I received from someone who calls herself Bonita:
“I can guarantee that nothing will happen. I’ve tried this myself with my own dogs…”
There was no acknowledgment that the packaging was compromised and no offer of a replacement or refund – just a personal guarantee based on her own dogs.
Kibble begins to degrade the moment it’s exposed to air due to oxidation, and if the seal was compromised from the start, there is no way of knowing how long the product had already been exposed before delivery. This is exactly why damaged or non-airtight packaging is normally treated as a quality issue for food products, not a gut feeling based on an anecdotal personal experience of a customer support representative.
The tone of the reply was casual to the point of patronising, including trailing “…” which felt completely inappropriate for a food safety concern.
For pet food, this response is careless and unprofessional, and unacceptable.
Price bump of 35% with informing me
Had a subscription for dog food, then 3rd time I was to receive the food, they had increased the price by 35% without informing me. Making the dog food more expensive then everywhere else.

Zooplus is my place to buy food for my cat . They have a great selection of food and other supplies for pets ~ and not least: they have the brand of cat food which my cat craves, and which many other shops don’t have; so it’s a blessing .
It’s easy to find your way around their webshop and to order and pay. They pack your order well and ship it rather fast. I am very grateful for this shop.. and so is my cat.
AVOID smilia - plastic found in wet food
The food quality of smilia a poor it has a cm thick of pure fat at the bottom of the tin and I found a pea sized piece of blue plastic. When I contacted smilia they said they knew about the problem it came off the staples which they use in the food production but we're still producing the food regardless.

double order …
I had accidentally ordered a double batch of dry food for my dog. When I contacted Zooplus to arrange a return, I was told I didn’t have to send it back — I could simply keep it, or donate it to an animal shelter if I couldn’t use it myself.
That small gesture honestly says a lot about their customer service and values. It’s rare to see a company that cares this much — others could really learn from Zooplus.dk when it comes to kindness and customer care.
Absolutely top-class experience.

Extremely exspensive compaired with there German and Dutch websites. I understand all countries have different VAT % but these differences are much higher.
Delivery takes an age
I have only used this company twice While the prices are good the delivery is ridiculous I got an email saying evri were expecting my parcel 4days ago, and also an email saying my goods had been dispatched, however evri has still not recieved my parcel there is not tracking information and over a week later I am yet to recieve my parcel, I have had quicker delivery from temu who actually tell u how long your parcel is going to take to be delivered it says 3 to 5 days on the website for zoo plus both times I have ordered have been the same. So if you are shopping for a pets birthday I advise you order with 6 weeks notice or you will have to go out and buy different stuff from a pet shop.
Never buy ur stuff from this shop
Zooplus delivery is incredibly slow
Zooplus delivery is incredibly slow. You can’t even see an estimated delivery date when placing an order, and they don’t inform you about delays. This is especially bad when ordering animal food – you end up having to buy it elsewhere anyway because it arrives far too late. Very disappointing experience.

Very good much cheaper than shops in CPH. Delivery could be faster but it’s not bad still. I recommend! 🙂
Stay away from this shopping site
Stay away from this shopping site! They're a scam! You make the purchase, they withdraw your money from your bank account, and the order isn't shipped! It's been 4 days and the order still isn't on its way! The positive reviews you have here are bought! I have no doubt about it! They don't respond to complaints, they have no direct contact with customers! Now I wonder, where has my money been these last 4 days? And where will it be in the next few days since my order hasn't shipped yet? A COMPLETE SCAM! THEY SHOULD BE DELETED!
Packaging could be better
I order often from zooplus, and I don't think that there have been many times that either the box or an item in the box has been damaged due to the way it is packaged. The latest delivery had a small hole in one of the bags of dry food that clearly came from the cans of food that were with also in the order, I didn't lodge a complaint as no food came out and the food went immediately into a storage container. They have improved in the last few months, so the packaging is no longer damaged and i don't have to check for missing items by using higher quality boxes, but still an annoyance that I have to check everything for damage.
Efficient service
Fast service and delivery. I bought some stuffs and I needed to return one of them. Customer service was very helpful and I got money back in 3 days. Fantastic !
Super fast
Fast & efficient service, goods well packed & as described.
Best online pet food supplier around with great customer service
Super customer service - good deals and selection of products.
The packages are damaged
The prices are good, but all packages I've got was open and damaged, the cat litter was damaged twice so I’ve lost a lot of cat litter or it was poured out in the package.
The big bag of cat food had a hole due to a damage to the package. I wrote to them but they didn’t even answer.
Always great service
Always great service, fast delivery and customer support in case of any problems. The prices are really good too! I have been a loyal customer for years
