Transfers a go go
I started using HL earlier this year for an asset consolidation exercise and to boost savings for both me and the children.
So far, with new money going in, I can’t fault HL and simplicity of their app. Dealing is a breeze and keeping up to date with investment progress/ performance.
However, I have not experienced the same when it comes to transfers. My son’s JISA has taken more time than it should. Coming up for 2 months and no funds showing in the HL account. I have had to chase this and get involved with the existing provider and also HL.
Customer services give you mixed responses and some are better than others in relation to transfers. In the most recent call I was told that HL didn’t have the funds, when actually they were sat with the completion team. A lot of unnecessary backwards and forwards calls that should be taken care of by Origo standards.
SIPP transfer was a bit better, but still had to get involved and find out what the blockers were. HL progress updates were not helpful and quite vague.
Once the money was with HL, I would have expected a notification, but didn’t receive one.
So there is room for improvement on the transfer side HL. I will be looking at my next stage consolidation later in the year. So hopefully improvements can be made to your messaging and update services.
