Went to pick up amazon parcel at Shell petrol station 211 Shinfield Road Reading during Christmas time, my wife was driving the car, all the parking bays were full, my wife stopped on the driveway for me to pickup the the parcel, we spend literally a minute at the location and left.
Two weeks later we received a parking ticket!!!
The evidence stated that I had parked on the roadway in an area where there is no parking on the roadway at any time, I appealed on the grounds that I stopped to pick up an Amazon parcel and left, my appeal was rejected, hence I visited the site to further investigate.
I trusted their pictures in good faith BIG MISTAKE. Their pictures do not show the absence of any road markings and the invisibility of the signage from inside the car at the location. If you make the mistake to stop for a millisecond get out of the car to read the sign the person waiting with a camera in ambush will take a photo and send you in the post a ticket!!!
As the location has clear road markings in other places, I believe this is an intentional business practice to issue parking tickets to visitors unfairly, Have contacted citizens advice borough they will be referring them to the Trading Standards Office.
They are telling me to ignore the fact that there are no road markings (double yellow line) and to read the sign that is invisible from inside the car that no parking is allowed on the roadway by not stopping and not getting out of the car hence putting my life at risk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car was in great condition, plugged my scanner to ensure all ok, be aware that there is pressure to buy extras. I think they lose customers with people that are not accustomed to such sales tactics but I had no issue with them.

Finally I received the money back from my credit card provider, the credit card provider fully recognised the unacceptable behaviour of plumbingforce and reimbursed me in full.
No letter of apology and no compensation from plumbingforce for their unacceptable behaviour, hence still AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I was preparing my S75 claim to submit to my credit card provider I checked charges on their web site, as I was charged the "weekend" rate of GBP 150 + VAT. Guess what there is no "weekend" rate but GPB 150 is charge for drainage !!!!
I am contacting BBC watchdog also.!!!

Had problem with the boiler, as we have a small child I wanted it to be fixed as soon as possible. The engineer diagnosed the problem as the heat exchanger needing cleaning.
He gave an estimate for the job as 4 hours at GBP 150 per hour (weekend rate) + VAT for which I agreed. The next day he arrived and started "working" on cleaning the heat exchanger, after 2 hours he mentioned that the heat exchanger cannot be cleaned but needed replacement!!!
I immediately asked him to stop and pack his stuff. He insistent before he leaves for "safety" reasons to put everything back, I refused and became agitated as I was not prepared to pay 4 hours “work” for nothing, I had to call the police to remove him from the premises !!!!
The same day I complained to the company and had the response that they will investigate, but I did not hear back from them, in the meantime I commissioned a report from another engineer which I forwarded to the company for the record.
At the end of the month I received my credit card statement and they had charged me for 3 hours “work”!!! I contacted the company and asked for a refund. The reply was that I signed an invoice the day before the work commenced and they are not going to refund!!!
To add insult to injury they mentioned why I did not contact them to send another engineer from the company to check but asked a third party for an inspection!!!
I am referring them to the trading standards office and have taken the matter with my credit card provider, will keep you posted.
