Verbally abused at Kendal Warehouse

Went to Kendal Warehouse yesterday (Friday 6th February) to make donations and show a picture of an electric single bed and furniture on my phone. Went to the delivery door at the rear, as I have donated before. Met by a very rude lady who would not let me stand inside, despite the heavy rain. I explained I had a picture to show her, but she flatly refused to let me in, telling me I had to go around the building to the front desk. There was a chap stood behind her, who when I went to the front desk, informed me they could not take the items I had brought as the electrician was sick ( the rude lady was going to take them off me) as far as the bed and furniture was concerned, they weren’t really selling them. I believe this was payback after the altercation at the donation point. I left immediately and will not be donating or purchasing from Age UK ever again. I was as polite as I possibly could be and felt totally aggrieved at the attitude shown. Do not tell me to contact South Lakeland Age UK as you have with a previous reviewer. The bridges have been well and truly burnt. I was also a gift aider so there is only one loser here.

Misrepresentation in advertising

Used last year to go to Mijas Pueblo, and the apartment was brilliant. However this year went to Granada, where it was totally the opposite. The description appeared to show a top floor apartment with plunge pool and terrace. In fact a second floor apartment and communal pool and terrace. Numerous issues with the apartment and the noise from students outside every night between 2 and 6 am was constant. VRBO asked for a review so I gave them one, rating 2 out of 10 and cataloging the issues. They responded by asking me to resubmit as it didn’t meet their guidelines. I read the guidelines and made two minor changes and resubmitted. 48 hours on and they have not replied and the review doesn’t feature against the property. There are 15 reviews on the site, 14 are 10/10 and 1 was 8/10. My guess is they filter out the bad reviews. Highly unlikely I will use them again.

The best energy supplier I have had

The best energy supplier I have had. Transferred to them when Avro energy went bust. Been with them ever since. Never had any problems. At the end of my term they contact with alternative tariffs and at the click of a button. The new contract is set up. Highly recommended.

Totally bad customer service

We’re do I start, I know at the beginning. Signed up in 2010, and was pleased with the deal. Set up of the router was excellent and in the 14+ years that has been the good news. However dealing with customer service is a completely different experience. I had the broadband and phone package to begin with, which I was assured would be until the end of the contract. Not so seemingly. Each time during my contracts, for some time. I would get an email informing me that due to something or other, they had to increase my phone charge. Each time I spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone pointing out that they had informed me the price was set for the duration. Eventually each time I got my way.
Then at each contract renewal I had to barter for ever to try and get a deal. The last one in 2023 was not ideal, but I kept with them as they offered me £120 credit against my account. One month later they withdrew £62. On the phone again explaining in great detail what had happened, but they didn’t get it. The only way they believed me was to listen to the recording that was made at the time. I made my mind up then that unless I got a package to suit me at this renewal, I would take my business elsewhere.
So in February I went through the usual rigmarole of trying to get a deal. This time I was shocked. It was definitely a take it or leave it situation. I was offered an upgrade to 65 fibre and telephone for £35/month. There was no way they would move on it. So I told them I would take my business elsewhere. Blow me down a week later a clown rung me up asking why I was leaving. Told him and about the credit incident 2 year earlier. His response, why did you stay?! I would suggest not good customer service practice. He then asked what if he made me an unbelievable offer to stay. I told him he was a week too late. So customer loyalty counts for nothing. I will not return to talk talk, and would advise anyone thinking about it to avoid. I am now with another provider with 150Mbps full fibre and anytime phone calls for the “deal” I was offered by talk talk. Talk talk don’t ask me to provide details etc. as I am not interested.

The Best

Definitely the best energy company I have been with and I have been with a few. Was transferred to Octopus when Avro energy went bust. Considering I was an outsider coming in under them circumstances I have been treated absolutely brilliantly. Communication is top with them. I get a reminder to tell me when my direct debit is going to be taken , and another when the meter readings are due. I have just renewed my tariff with them for a fixed 12 months after they had sent a tariff ending email which was extremely informative, stating all the facts and more. Would not hesitate in recommending this Energy company.

Be aware

Not very happy how I was treated by this company. I booked my holiday via VRBO, but the agents for the booking were Holidu. I requested a change of payment details regarding my card payment and was told this was not company policy.
On the day of departure to my holiday, having already paid a 100€ accident deposit to the host, I was then asked to pay a further 200€ to the host by Holidu. I contacted the host, who in turn contacted Holidu. I never received an apology or anything from Holidu. Be very careful if using this outfit. I will be thinking twice before using them again.

Regarding the payment method, you are always entitled to introduce your payment information when you are booking a property with us, and there is only the option to change the payment details in case there is no enough limit in your card, or if the credit card introduced has expired, etc. If this happens, you will receive an automatic message to update the new payment method.

Furthermore, we always ask our hosts to configure a security deposit that should be paid on site by the guests depending on the channel, but we always rely on the information configured at the property for all the extra taxes that the guest has to pay.

Very satisfied

Been with Octopus over 2 years now, since the collapse of Avto Energy. I have never known a better company and I have been with a few. Communication is excellent, and after entering my monthly readings, they immediately let you know the status of your account. Just changed to a 12 month fixed tariff. Highly recommended.

BEWARE

This Company is a joke. Have had car insurance since December 2022. As I am changing my car I tried to do a mid term adjustment on the portal. I was refused and told to go to live chat. From 55 in the queue I eventually got through. Apparently the company would not insure the new car due to it's grouping. I asked them to cancel. I was more or less told to get a fresh quote from them, but I would be charged a cancellation fee. This us rich when they cannot provide. Me with the insurance I require. I then had to phone a retention department who quoted me an inflated price for a policy. I asked for the cancellation and apparently a small refund. I was told as it was an online company I needed to return to the lice chat! Unbelievable! Joined the queue once again @33. Eventually got through and after a diatribe of messaging was informed yes I had to pay the cancellation and no there would be no refund. Will never insure with this outfit again, and buyer beware!! If I could have given 0 stars I would. Goodness knows what would happen if I had to have claimed off them. I got a quote for like for like on line with these for £70 less than they quoted and found another insurer with same cover another c£80 less. Complete waste of an afternoon.

Highly rated dealership and Professional Care

Went in to look at an demonstration vehicle that was for sale via the Internet. Was welcomed VERY warmly by Senior Customer Experience Specialist Ian Gibbs. Following a discussion about my requirements, he took me through many salient points of how he works and letting the Product do the talking. He then took me through the major points of the vehicle. We then decided to let him look at my vehicle for a P/X value whilst my wife and I took the car for a test run. He insisted on us having a good run, as it was important for us to make a good judgement on whether to proceed. This was done and on arriving back, a suggestion was made that it would be worth considering buying a New vehicle of same spec, which with a Current Honda sales event would mean it would cost am extra £1500 after discount. We had a think and it made sense to us to go with that option. From a "sales" pitch it was very easy, low key, no pressure, by a very able and Professional Man (Ian) and the input from the Branch Manager Michael. At any point we could have walked away without a deal, and I feel we would have parted on good terms. The whe experience was one of the best I have experienced in purchasing/part ex a car. Everything was explained in absolute detail. When I pick the new car up, I have been promised a"good hour" to through everything. Highly recommended

Great Company

Been with 1p now for 2 years, now in my 3rd year. Absolutely no problem. Change over was straight forward, and the comms are brilliant. This year I went on the all inclusive package. £3 per month. For me, it's good value for money. For a light user like me it's ideal. Highly recommended.

ZANDER !!

Obviously Classic or Global do not read these reviews. As with most other reviews, we have switched to Radio 3 as the 9 o'clock news finishes to miss AA. Cannot stand his patronising, childish, condescending way of presenting. Also Minners seems to have adopted his style since he has taken that slot. Saturday afternoon is the same, and now he is constantly "advertised" as the programme to listen to. Reference after reference, it's just never ending. Surely they must have noticed the listening figures are down.

From our first going into the store to look for a suitable suite, followed by a further 2 visits, the team were exemplary, very courteous and nothing was too much trouble. We sought as much advice regarding our chosen piece and were helped all the way through the process. The team were very knowledgeable about the products. When it came to placing the order, again we were taken comprehensively through the process and given very good information in a relaxed way.
