Good experience, but...
Overall, I had a good experience using homeadvisor to source the contractors I required and, based on my experience, I recommend using homeadvisor to source contractors. However, IMO, the homeadvisor ads are a little misleading. My last tenants basically destroyed the rental house interior, lawn, shrubs, plants, etc. Consequently, I had multiple projects to repair the house and lawn. My projects included demolition and refurbishment or replacement of 1,400 square feet of hardwood floors, tile, and the entire master bathroom, paint the house interior, pressure wash the house, driveway, gutters, pool screen enclosure, etc, repair the lawn and garden irrigation system, major clean up and refurbish the entire lawn and garden which is a very big project that will take several days. I dealt with at least a dozen homeadvisor referred contractors. Based on my conversations with those homeadvisor referred contractors, the contractors are not exactly "cleared" to the extent insinuated in the homeadvisor TV commercials. By that, I mean homeadvisor verifies the contractor's' license and insurance, and, of course homeadvisor displays the reviews and ratings provided by home owners, but no further clearance. With that said, I had very good experience with all the homeadvisor referred contractors and I hired a homeadvisor referred contractor for all but the yard cleanup and refurbishment. Overall, I had a good experience from using homeadvisor to source the contractors I required.
