Time-Wasters
I ordered 2 packs of gravel boards (in stock according to Wickes) on 17th June and was offered the earliest delivery of 27th June. I accepted the delivery date and placed the order, with the payment taken immediately. I received a text on 22nd June, stating that they were 'Busy preparing my order'. On the afternoon of 26th June I get a telephone call advising me that they did not have the items, would not be getting them and that was that. A refund would be issued at some point. Having lost almost 2 weeks and with the work scheduled to start tomorrow, I am now left with no other choice but to cancel the work and start looking for a more reputable and trustworthy supplier. The person from their Darlington depot who telephoned me was quite indifferent to the whole situation. Covid, which I do not doubt will be trotted out as the reason, is not an excuse for poor customer service and selling items that you do not have. This is misleading at best and borders on untrustworthy behaviour. I'm curious, Wickes, what exactly were you 'busy preparing' on 22nd June? Overall I would avoid at all costs. Complete time-wasters.
