Service liked it used to be…

I had an Alligator dicer that failed after 4 years of hard usage. Alligator replaced the UpperPart under warranty, but Joe the Manager helped me understand why it failed. Not much more to say… this place is service like we used to get….I use it regularly for anything I need; They tolerate my pre-sales questioning charmingly and order items I want seamlessly. Couldn’t recommend more highly….

Easy order, correct item arrived next day vis DPD and overall an excellent experience.
This site is a front-end for Screwfix - alas my next experience with another site to the same backend within 24 hrs was the complete opposite.

They just got on with it - professionally.

They just got on with it - Profoto Sony shoe needed replaced after first job! - it’s a Sony and or Profoto design/engineering issue - excellent timely service.
Cost low thankfully.
They are my GoTo rental and repair shop in London.

Saved me at short notice

Saved me at short notice for a centenary event - it won’t come round for another 100 years.
Needed a Profoto Soft Bounce at short notice as none available anywhere.
Delivered seamlessly - I may have misunderstood their ordering system but it was corrected within the hour.

Be very careful here....
Google search shows it at the top of the list and it mirrors official US site...and I used it..they charged $79 dollars (they said it was on their web page but it is way way down), and the response was within the hour with a pdf and on checking the official US homelands security site said I had a legitimate ESTA. However if I cancelled credit card or Paypal it would be cancelled.
This was a Saturday afternoon.
However within the hour when I realised this was a UK DVLA type scam I immediately rang Barclaycard and asked them to stop the transaction - it was still pending. (However when I contacted Barclaycard a week later they are not going to give a refund from what I understand).
I took the view that if you have ever seen folk coming to grief at Homeland Security - you never want to be in that place. (Somebody else in this thread had that experience of being turned away).
I applied to the official site a second time, was told I had a valid ESTA and did I want to make a fresh application - I did - and now have an official piece of paper and a valid entry on the site.
These are hucksters out to make money. They did provide the service but I didn't want to take a chance - somebody else got caught and was refused entry was my fear which sounds well founded.
The ones I am very annoyed about are Barclaycard. It’s looks as if their online protection is only limited value and there are exceptions - they say they give examples on their website.
I am going to raise this with the banking ombudsman, Fraud Alert and Which. PayPal have been far more impressive sorting out online transactions gone wrong, so I will stick with them in future.
Sadly lesson learned - Buyer Beware!!!!

Motion blur correction and also softness of monochrome film scans gets the thumbs up from me

Sharpen AI (Using AutoSettings) - Motion blur correction on a face portrait (12MB JPEG) was brilliant. Likewise Softness Correction on a 5x4 Monochrome FP4 Drum Scan (400MB TIFF) of a flint church tower that I was initially disappointed in - was equally impressive and gave me what I imagined I would get.
Focus correction - cannot see much difference on 1-2 images but there was some very odd artefacts of skin like stippled pits appeared on faces on colour files.
Processed images are x3 - 4 times bigger than originals.
In summary - motion blur correction and correction of softness of monochrome film gets the thumbs up.

Got there in the end

I have had no postbox for last decade and post office stopped allowing pickups from central office last year, so I needed this for letters and parcels.
Got there in the end.
Dimensions on webite were wrong - they have corrected the website now.
I had a custom wooden small shed made for it locally (about same prices as the box) - now its weather proof - the box by itself is not weather proof..
The "proof of delivery" bar code on the top opening door is an "aspiration" by the seller - none of the delivery companies use it.
Would I buy again? - Yes - post office and couriers happy and wished there were moe of them around.

Excellent Service regardless of how you contact them

Instore (Commercial Rd London), on phone (to Norwich), on web - excellent customer service to help me get what I needed. My needs have always been esoteric and very specific - got what I wanted and needed first time - several times. Never needed to go back - but the fallback is there.

They are the Go-To retail store in London.

Rathbone Place - good staff, helpful, know what they are on about. All the other stores in London send you there for anything they don't have or know about.
Burgess Hill Online - sometimes the logic of how this works defeats me - an items is ordered, collected and paid for but I still keep getting reminders from the warehouse that item not collected/. Loops not closing somewhere there.
