lastminute.com - misleading or incompetent?
We booked flights with lastminute.com, to then be informed that the return flight had been cancelled by British Airways (even though flights were still operating on the same day). We were given the option of a refund or rebook. We were going to be several thousand pounds out of pocket if we didn’t accept a rebook of our flight. We spoke to them on three separate occasions over several weeks to request an update on our rebooking and we were assured that the flight would be rebooked. We then receive an on-line notification that we cannot rebook and we were forced to accept a voucher refund and rebook with them.
Our rebooked flight was a 3 hour layover, which was subsequently cancelled again on-line and they offered us a 13 hour layover flight thereafter. We phoned them up to discuss flight options, but trying to talk to anybody that can discuss flight bookings, flight options or refunds is futile. We then received a notification on-line that the only option was a refund. We could see that there were other flight options on-line.
So much misinformation provided to us has left us mistrusting this faceless and disorganised company. There are no managers to escalate any issues with and when we were promised a call back from a manager, another false promise from them.
We are now still without a return flight, they have our money and flight prices are through the roof.
We have had an awful experience with lastminute.com and we will never use them again.
