Well. Actual Pearl has occasionally called Actual Tango “Tanguini” before so… you’re in good company XD I made up “tangonil” so that I had an in-universe justification for his name being Tango that I could pretend made sense

And also I don’t think “noodle” is entirely unjustified XD He can be a bit of a noodle XD

In the corner of his eye, he saw something. He completed the parry and got around behind Gem to get a better look.

Tango. Sitting where he’d been before. Lounging on the shallow steps into the citadel, braced on one elbow with one ankle resting on the opposite knee that was bent up. There was a parchment in one hand that he appeared to be reading. Though, with his hood up and sitting back in the shadows a bit, Jimmy couldn’t see his eyes.

Jimmy forced himself to focus on Gem, and not think about Tango being right there. Tango didn’t usually watch him practice. Not that Jimmy had been able to see, anyway. He tried not to be nervous. Maybe Tango wasn’t actually watching. Maybe he was just reading and being on standby in case someone got injured. Maybe…

Gem began cackling. “T,” she said loudly, “I know Elvish has a lot of weird characters to read, but I’m pretty sure you don’t read them upside down.”

“What?” Tango asked.

The cackling got louder and more gleeful as Tango slooowly rotated his parchment to be rightway up, a tiny pinkish blush coloring his pale cheekbones. “Oh, oh he’s down bad,” she said softly.

Yes, Tango is absolutely checking Jimmy out and is very bad at being subtle about it and it’s always been one of my favorite moments from Perfection/Saint

Sooooooooo. Tumblr apparently glitched. I literally never saw this until now. I’ve had an empty inbox every other ask I’ve had between when this is saying it was sent and when I am just now receiving it. I am so sorry. Tumblr inboxes do glitch occasionally but it’s never happened to me before :-(

Anyway.

Yes, the in-universe fandom has mostly put together that the Dungeon Master character in Decked Out is a fantasy version of Deepfrost (not everyone, but the ones who are both fans of the superpowered scene and Decked Out have clocked it) and the Deepfrost Citadel in Perfection/Saint is 100% meant to be based off its appearance in the Decked Out game (I think I said that in an author’s note pretending to be the in-universe version of myself who wrote the fic, actually XD). I would say the Deepfrost Citadel is a somewhat-common setting for Fantasy AUs by fans of Decked Out specifically. You gotta remember that in the Ice Walls universe, no one knows that Deepfrost is the one who made the Decked Out game. Even when his identity got outed, he published the game under a pseudonym. Most of the folks who realized that the DM looks like Deepfrost largely have two guesses: A) it was made by Deepfrost or B) was made by a Deepfrost superfan who was trying to pay tribute. And in-universe, Decked Out is an indie game with a fairly small audience, all things considered

The fallout of Tango being outed definitely caused a lot of uproar in the fandom. There was a lot of yelling before the memes started but there were some memes, yeah.

Sheriff not being deployed except for the Mumbo break in actually didn’t cause as much of a stir as you might think. Given his recent promotion to B-Tier, he’d hadn’t been seen out in the field anywhere near as much as he used to be in the months before Joined Walls. So his sudden and almost complete disappearance from public appearances was mostly assumed to be he was in shock and recovering from the news and heartbroken and some people were jerks about it because that’s the nature of the internet but most of the fandom really felt bad for Sheriff and what they assumed he’d been through, finding out his fiancé had been lying to him about being a villain. Most of the fandom is understanding. Some of the loudmouthed few probably thought he should “get over it”

Yes, some people deleted their posted Sheriffrost fanfics. Not a lot, but a few of them. Those who made choices about their fanfiction mostly simply chose not to write any more Sheriffrost fanfiction, but kept their already posted works up. They just chose to finish whatever WIP was in-progress and then leave the ship be, out of respect for what had happened
