Bellara: So, Professor Emmrich. I have a question. About undead. Emmrich: Certainly! What do you wish to know about? The ritual of unbeing? Transference spells? Bellara: Ghosts. I mean, that's what I want to know about. Emmrich: You mean... spirits? Creatures of the Fade? Surely you know all about them. Bellara: No, I mean... ghosts. The kind that go, "Wooooo!" and knock things over. Emmrich: (Sighs) Young mages do ask the complicated questions first.

Bellara: I thought about it. But I don't get how they're complicated? Emmrich: Beg pardon? Bellara: Oh! Ghosts. What we were talking about before. Emmrich: There are two main stands of thought: That ghosts are mortal souls returned... Or that they're simply echoes reenacted by inhuman spirits. Bellara: What about ghosts knocking things off shelves? Or writing in blood on the wall? Emmrich: Writing in... have you been reading those serials Harding's so fond of? Bellara: Oh, yeah. We swap them all the time. Emmrich: (Sighs) Ah.

Emmrich: If you're curious about the undead, Bellara, I could arrange an excursion. Bellara: To see ghosts? Emmrich: Far better! All sorts of unique entities dwell in the deep Necropolis. Where should we start? The Unspoken Valley? The Charnel Bridge? Oh, but the nightmare fog's returned there lately. Bellara: Let's wait until it clears. I'll get new notebooks!

Bellara: So ghosts are complicated. What about vampires? Emmrich: Ah—there, the stories have a bit more substance to them. Bellara: Really? Vampire exist? I mean, really exist? Emmrich: When a hunger demon possesses a corpse, the resulting abominations seek blood, you see. Bellara: Oh. Okay. I knew about that. Emmrich: Do I detect disappointment? Bellara: A little bit. Sort of. Bellara: So can those abominations turn into bats?

Emmrich: I was speaking with Neve earlier, Bellara. She's actually heard rumours of creatures that sound like your vampires from the serials. Bellara: Really? Where? How? Emmrich: Certain Tevinter magisters have apparently attempted to bond with hunger demons. It would grant them tremendous power, but also an unending craving for blood. Bellara: That's amazing! And, really bad. Of course. Bellara: I can't wait to ask Neve about it!

Bellara wants fucked up shit to be real so bad.
