Updated rating: 1/5

update: i love all her books except this one so that's that.

Honestly, more I think about this book, the angrier I get. Now that I have read People We Meet On Vacation, I am reminded how well EH writes. Happy Place is horrendous and the weakest book she has written so far.
She focused on writing beautiful lines all while ignoring to build the relationships and story that makes sense.

So disappointed!

Original rating: 2 stars

love story? such a bore.
and im not a hater of emily henry books, i LOVED beach read so so much. it holds a special place in my heart.
but now im questioning everything because i felt this book was so choppy and dragged on, there was no chemistry between the main couple, no chemistry between the friends either. everything felt rushed.

i understand this is a totally unpopular opinion, i genuinely couldn't care less about wyn and harriet together.

i liked wyn tho. his struggles and insecurities were something i deeply related to and he is the reason why this book gets a 2 instead of 1.

i own people we meet on vacation and that's the book which will decide if my enjoyment of beach read was just a fluke or not.
