b) Explain briefly FIVE advantages of fluidised bin dischargers. (5 marks)
c) Describe THREE disadvantages of batch blending. (3 marks)

2. a) Describe briefly FOUR practices which ease the storage problems of


wheatfeed. (4 marks)
b) List FOUR factors to be considered during preparation and making safe
for bin entry. (4 marks)
c) Outline FOUR advantages of steel silo construction compared to concrete. (4 marks)

3. a) List SIX main components of an automatic palletiser. (6 marks)

b) Describe briefly SIX factors to be considered when choosing a bag design. (6 marks)

4. a) Describe briefly the TWO methods used for filling minibulk


containers (FIBCs). (2 marks)
b) State SIX key considerations when selecting a type of pallet to be used. (6 marks)
c) State TWO reasons for clearly marking packed bags. (1 marks)
d) List THREE useful tasks that can be completed using a pallet inverter. (3 marks)
