It's almost a shame that there isn't a trophy for chronic negligence, because MSC would undoubtedly be the undisputed champion.

Our container, which arrived on January 5, 2026, remains unaccounted for. No surprise there, of course: with you, even the most basic tasks seem to represent an unattainable challenge. The legal 10-day period for customs formalities?

A concept that, clearly, still eludes you.

It must be said that your consistency is truly admirable: managing to repeat the same mistakes with such precision is almost an art form. At MSC, mediocrity isn't a weakness. It's a process. You can tell it's deliberate, cultivated, nurtured.

While your departments are bogged down in their own inertia, your clients have to deal with the consequences of your repeated failures. But again, nothing new there: everyone has their role, and yours seems to be to complicate the simplest things.

Refrain from using this vessel company

In fact, they do not deserve even a single star. My shipment was scheduled to arrive in Malaysia by 5 December, and it is now 17 December with no certainty on when the vessel will arrive at the final destination, Port Klang.

To make matters worse, the vessel added additional port-of-calls along the way, further delaying the shipment with complete disregard for an already significant delay.

I strongly advise against using this company, even if their rates appear competitive—unless you are prepared to have no visibility or assurance on when your goods will arrive, if at all.

Horrible experience from day one!

⭐ 1-Star Review – MSC Shipping Lines

My experience with MSC Shipping Lines has been extremely disappointing and stressful. Their communication with clients is among the worst I’ve ever encountered. From the beginning, the process felt misleading and poorly explained.

What felt like a bait-and-switch situation occurred when shipping my vehicle from the United States to Europe specifically the Republic of Türkiye 🇹🇷. After the contract was signed and my vehicle was already on the vessel, MSC continued adding unexpected “local fees” on top of additional charges that were never clearly disclosed upfront.

At no point was I properly informed about these supposed costs before committing. The lack of transparency and constant surprise fees created financial strain and unnecessary anxiety.

This experience left me feeling taken advantage of and powerless once the shipment was already in transit.

I strongly advise anyone considering MSC to proceed with extreme caution and to get every possible fee in writing before agreeing to anything. Personally, I would not use their services again and cannot recommend them to others.

Stay away if you value clear communication and honest pricing.

They are unfair and dishonest if you can, please avoid using them.

Its crazy, and transit times are all over the place. Our container has been in Zeebrugge since 8th Nov. The container is still there, and they are constantly changing the ETA. Now, they are saying the container can only be transshipped on 29th Nov. Can you believe they held the container in Zeebrugge for around 3 weeks? Now, they told us that due to major congestion caused by the strikes, which have pushed all the cargo and backlog onwards, in the meantime there were bad weather alerts, lots of delays, and Antwerp port was sending cargo in a FIFO structure. Our container has been available at Zeebrugge since 8th Nov, have now informed us that we have to wait until December to transship. That's horrible service. They are still selling their earliest Vessel at the moment.

Also, the same thing happened in September, they had our container in Amsterdam for around a month. They are unfair and dishonest if you can, please avoid using them.

Worst company

One of the worst companies I’ve ever had to deal with. I shipped a car from Canada, 06/08/2025 to the Middle East. ETA was 28/09/2025, till today I haven’t received the vehicle, it’s still somewhere in India. I’ve tried to contact all the MSC offices concerned, I.e Oman, Dubai, Montreal and Geneva, unfortunately communication was the worst with them. No help whatsoever and everyone trying to blame it on another. Never will I use them again and would never recommend them to anyone.

More crime syndicate than shipping…

More crime syndicate than shipping line. MSC and their clearing company Potlako were employed to ship my personal effects from UK to Durban South Africa. The clearing agent concerned told me that I needed to register a company as and import company and then register with the Tax office as an importer. I spoke with the SA tax office who told me frankly that this is not the case and MSC should know better. The Customs agent then telephoned the agent concerned and told him so.The agent however would not be moved and as a result he loaded incorrect codes, neglected to include import declarations which resulted in my container being searched by both police & customs. Thinking that this was now over as both Police & Customs had searched the container and found only personal effects I was waiting the delivery notice. Instead I got another bill for their use of incorrect codes. I paid it, only to get another identical penalty as they say they hadn't noticed they'd made two errors. They are of course charging horrendous demurrage for the delay storage which they caused. This is a company with no moral compass, where ethics are trumped by greed and incredibly poor conduct. It would appear that their business model works more like a crime syndicate extorting money through deliberate mistakes which increase their profits. Be VERY VERY careful about using this charade, they are NOT there to serve or assist. They are there to fleece you, cause you emotional damage and risk losing you your goods.

Unjust £60 “Cleaning” Fee for Strings That Weren’t Mine

I recently received an unreasonable £60 charge from MSC for “cleaning” a container—specifically for removing a few strings/lashing from the sides. These were not part of my cargo and were already inside when the container arrived.

My company follows a strict unloading process and the driver was present to confirm the container was empty and clean before release. Despite asking for proof, MSC provided only photos after the fact, which do not establish responsibility.

I paid my logistics provider to avoid them bearing the loss, but this charge should never have been applied. It feels like an easy way to extract extra money from customers, especially given the high shipping fees already paid.

This experience leaves me questioning MSC’s fairness and accountability. I will be avoiding their services in future and caution others to carefully check all post-shipment charges.

I have been working since April to have the bill to party changed from us back to the IOR. The IOR has a foreign bond, so we are only the US Consignee. This happens with other steamship lines every now and then, and they have NO issue making the switch. However MSC USA even ignored the request from MSC NZ when they tried to assist with making the change. MSC always starts their email reply's with, "Good day Dear Valued Customer," however they lack in showing how they actual value a customer!!

The company may be good but they run iport at doncaster under another name and iport needs to be looked at seriously as one can be in there between 2 hours and 4 hours to get a container which is extremely bad service. The turn around shouldn't be any longer than 1 hour at a push. Not a good service for the customers waiting for their goods.

Exorbitant Q/R STORAGE

Exorbitant Q/R STORAGE, DEMURRAGE CHARGE!!
I requested to elaborate the details of it because the cost is not what Felixstowe charge is and MSC charges extra date to the point that DEV was issued. That's not our company responsibility to pay for their own delay. Thief. I'll file a complaint after this. They are not willing to negotiate anything. They should be fined.

Non responsive or Way too Long Emailing

MSC has a very easy to use portal. However, if something goes southward and you need help from customer service or equipment, forget it. If people need help, they need help now not 4+ days later. MSC needs to pick up their game on responding to emails, like within the hour.

Not even close to legit if it's not a cargo container. It's a scam, get your money send shipping info and blame the shipper. To top it off they tried to tell me I had to pay them for shipping insurance but they would refund it when they deliver the package.
