At Rocket Lawyer, we believe everyone deserves affordable and simple legal services. Our laws should protect and empower—but for too many of us, the law is out of reach, because of high costs and complexity. So, we’re changing things. Since 2008, we’ve helped over 25 million people and organizations obtain the legal help they need, at a price they can afford. That’s legal made simple.®
At Trustpilot, it's all about human content. This business can also access our AI-assisted response tool which helps them draft replies.

Very misleading and fraudulent business!
I started with the trial which I forgot to cancel. Then off course you will be converted to a subscription. Makes sense, although a heads up by mail would be appreciated. But no, this company just takes out the amount for a full year from your bank account, which was about 290 euro. Makes absolutely no sense. I would expect a monthly payment. Especially when you can cancel monthly. Very shady!
Luckily I noticed it and asked them to cancel, which they did. And got my refund, but they made it seem it was out of courtesy, which is bullshit. Here in Europe legally you can cancel a subscription without any reason within 14 days. These kind of practices piss me off!

Horrible,
They just take your money like all lawyers,
They said I had a subscription that I never signed up for and they refused to give me my money back

I found the web forms really easy to use and reassuringly prompted me where to enter the specific information as needed.
Everything was easy, including the download once my agreement document was ready.

I have been with rocket lawyer for 3 years. Here is my experience. I asked the to create 3 businesses for my wife and I. 2 of the 3 were created as single member LLCs and the other one as partnership. Not sure why. This creates confusion when it is time to do taxes.
I also purchased their tax services which I am thinking that it was going to be easier since they have all my information already.
It was a disaster. I have to pay penalties in 2023 and now I am fighting not to pay IRS penalties for 2024 because their “tax pro” didn’t do their job correctly. I reached out to all the management I could find, every single support @roclet lawyer email I could find and every tax pro services @ rocket lawyer I could find, they responded with weird answers and basically didn’t fix the problem because they cannot prove that they file the taxes correctly or on time. You may think it was my fault, but I paid for the services in Dec 2024 (5 months before the IRS deadline) and they couldn’t figure out. The keep changed tax pros on me, and keep asking for the same information I provided several times. Management was not helping either.
Don’t do taxes and don’t file your business with rocket lawyer. I regret doing business with them. This is exhausting and frustrating.
Update: Rocket Lawyer tax pro reached out to me. It is simple. I need the evidence that they did their job, filed my taxes on time for the businesses they created, and tell the IRS that I am good to go. If they cannot provide the evidence for the services I paid for, I need a full refund, and a credit for like 5 years on their annual services which equals to amount of penalties I have to pay to the IRS.

In July 2022 I used a free trial with Rocket Lawyer and cancelled it within the trial period. I received a written confirmation of this cancellation.
Years later, I discovered that Rocket Lawyer has been charging my bank account €39.90 every month since then. They now claim that I started a second free trial in September 2022, which was automatically converted into a paid subscription.
I never knowingly started a second trial (how is this even possible). I never received any confirmation of such a trial, and never received monthly invoices or subscription emails, neither by email nor by post. Despite this, the monthly charges continued for over three years.
When I raised this issue, Rocket Lawyer refused to refund the full amount and only offered a refund for one month as a “gesture of goodwill,” which is completely unreasonable given the circumstances.
This experience raises serious concerns about transparency, billing practices, and customer protection. I would strongly advise others to monitor their bank statements closely if they ever interact with this service.

Misleading, advetise a free download and template, then only let you do so once you have entered your payment details, I feel like I have been conned.

Company: Rocket Lawyer
Complaint Category: Billing Issues / Professional Services Issues
Desired Resolution: Full refund of $1,639.86, immediate cancellation of services, and confirmation that they've withdrawn as attorney of record with USPTO so I can proceed pro se or with new counsel.
Complaint Details: I hired Rocket Lawyer on Aug 4, 2025 (Matter number: 00956958), paying $589.87 for subscription and $349.99 for initial trademark filing. Emails confirmed $349.99 covered the first mark, with $350 billed for a second which was confirmed by the attorney that was appointed. However, on Aug 19, 2025, they charged an additional $350 and tried to claim extras were USPTO fees, but emails show they were legal fees, misrepresenting the billing.
After multiple phone calls and emails demanding a refund, they were unresponsive. Now, there has been a USPTO office action as of Jan 12, 2026 (requiring a disclaimer) that was sent to them and there has been no action, despite follow-ups, risking abandonment by April 12, 2026. This has delayed my business and caused Amazon Brand Registry rejections due to the attorney and/or their representation not meeting standards.
Rocket Lawyer's unresponsiveness and misrepresentations breach their service agreement. I demand full refund, service cancellation, and withdrawal from USPTO as attorney of record to resolve promptly. If I don’t get that resolution, I’ll be submitting a complaint to the AZ Attorney General.

Disappointing that they deceive you at the end of the process to ask for your credit card details after wasting time filling in the form.
There is no warning about payments at the start.
If that is their attitude now, forget about working with them

The service you provided was excellent and enabled me to create a safeguarding policy for my business.

Beware these people steal your money directly from your bank account. If you make a fuss they make a pretence of looking into it but do nothing. This is their business model. It's modern day highway robbery and yet it seems to be legal in the UK. Utterly disgraceful.

Used it to create a quitclaim deed and two main issues. First is you can’t get a correct grantor and grantee name if you’re trying to take one spouse off the deed to a house. It comes up with husband name and wife name for both grantor and grantee. Second, it uses so many unnecessary pages! One short sentence each on two pages for an exhibit. And two pages for grantor and notary signatures. County here charges $24 for 1st page and $17 for subsequent pages. Could easily have used 3 pages instead of 5.
