Always clean

Always clean, but the lines for concessions are usually outrageously long and they never open the concession stands at the end of the side hallways. Btw, this is for Cinemark in Friendswood Texas (or Webster, TX, not sure which city it’s actually in because the city lines are close to it)

Been using the website for 20 years, no problems

I've been using Cinemark's website for years, at least 20. Never had a problem. No problems with customer service, either. And if there's something you don't understand or can't be solved on the website, just go to a theater and they take care of it for you. Keep in mind that people mostly tend to complain online rather than complement online with certain categories of chain stores, restaurants, grocers, etc.

Don't waste your money on their movie club!

Beware spending $9.99 or more a month for Cinemark's movie club that will not give you the benefit you pay for! I started the club because it sounded like a good deal, but after 7 months and never going to the movies I thought it was time for me to discontinue the account but the tickets you receive monthly are not supposed to expire.

So I finally stopped the account and it turns out that you only have 6 months to use all of those credits. I don't remember reading that anywhere, but maybe it was in the fine print somewhere?

So in order for me to actually have the privilege of using tickets that I have paid for during the last 7 months, I have to pay $9.99 AGAIN in order to get those seven movie ticket credits back into my account. And on top of that, I not only have the privilege of paying almost $10 AGAIN, I also have to waste my time and call the corporate office to have them manually put the tickets back on my account??

When I asked customer service if they thought that was right, she just kept repeating their stupid policy like I'm some kind of an idiot and didn't hear the first two times. So then I asked has anybody ever done a class action lawsuit?

Her response?

Are you threatening to sue?
I asked a question.
Because if you're threatening to sue then I have to disconnect the call.
I asked a question don't you... Don't you know the difference between a question and a threat?
If you're threatening to sue I have to disconnect the call.
Listen, a question ends with a question mark a threat is a statement. For example, "Have you ever been sued?" That's a question. "I'm going to sue you." That's a threat because it clearly states something I intend to do. Do you not know the difference?
You need to talk to legal.
So that many people threaten to sue or you have that many people asking about suing?

Wow!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE.

ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE.
I’ve been a loyal Cinemark customer for years. Rewards member, monthly subscription, the whole thing. I even decided to purchase an annual membership as a birthday gift for my friend because we go to your theaters constantly. That was a huge mistake.

When we tried applying the membership to his account, it dumped 12 tickets onto his profile AND still started charging him the monthly fee . . even though I already paid for the full year upfront. When I called customer service, I was met with an incredibly rude representative who insisted I applied it incorrectly and that “nothing can be done now.”

So I’m out $140, and my friend is now being charged monthly anyway. The only “solution” offered? Cancel the account . . which they said will still stay active for 6 more months, meaning my yearly gift will now only last half the time I paid for.

How is this even remotely acceptable? Taking someone’s money and not providing the product they purchased is outrageous. Between the attitude, the complete lack of accountability, and the refusal to fix an obvious system issue, this is hands-down the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with.

I will not be returning, I will not be renewing, and I will not be recommending Cinemark to anyone until this is resolved.

Dishonest about Shipping and Order!

Ordered from Cinemark shop in July. Was told item out of stock but would ship in December. Shipping confirmation sent 12/9 but item never shipped. Was counting on it for Christmas gift. I sent inquiry week before Christmas. Day after Christmas they finally responded saying issuing refund as lost in transit and out of stock so cannot replace. Tracking showed it never left their facility/was never actually shipped. So they kept my money for 5 months then sold my item to someone else

Cinemark - deception and greed

Went to see new Avatar movie at Cinemark Tinseltown 290 on opening night in Houston. Their online ad claimed we would get free custom 3d glasses if buying tickets for opening night. We were given regular 3d glasses. I feel Cinemark used deceptive marketing promise to get more people to go on opening night to boost sales. Shame on Cinemark.

Service keeps getting worse

The past two visits we’ve had pretzel bites at the concession stand and there was so much melted butter in the box they came in it literally spilled out and stained my husband and I’s clothes. They also pull movie viewings at the last minute-even special events they’ve advertised for months (other theatres will still have the showings and/or they only pull some of the days- I checked before writing this because I know it wouldn’t be fair to fault them if it was something the distributor did that they had no control over).

The staff and management are first class and they can real move a line to get snacks before the movies. seats and the theater were very clean. My only complaint would be the rudeness of customers that won't stop talking during the movie but that's out of Cinemark's control

Trashy place with lazy employees

We use to love coming here. It use to be so clean throughout, even the bathrooms. The customer service use to be great. It use to be the only movie theater we would go to. I even met my friends here. Well after this last Saturday, I WILL NEVER GO BACK. Not only was the staff discourtious, lazy, and not working, but the General Manager, Brian Steven's, was THE worst manager I have come across in my years of law enforcement and business. 30 minutes prior to our movie starting, these young 5 employees decided to congregate in the open, front area, beyond the ticket person, in the theater screen area before the hallway, outside screen #1. They were laughing, playing, and talking, as the carpets under them and around them were filled with trash and popcorn all over the floor. This was the worst I have EVER seen this place. It looked as if none of these 5 had cleaned any of it all day long. We were due for a movie to start on 30 mins and our theater was trashed. Yes I have photos and I was kicked out for taking photos of the work they were not doing, which says alot about their management and staff. Theater #1 had trash overflowing from the trash can, piled high, and overflowing onto the floor beneath it. This trash can inside screen #1 was so bad that you could tell this was not from just the screening before. Which tells me these 5 employees are not being monitored and that the manager isn't doing his job and promotes non-working activities and socialization. Brian, never listened to our side. Instead, he kicked us out of the theater saying we could not take photos for evidence to provide to his Corporate Office. This tells me he is aware of what is happening and does not want Corporate to know. Shame on him and shame on these 5 that are getting paid to do a job and not doing it. We tried asking the front desk for help and the young female there ignored our requests and said they were busy. We showed her a picture of them not being busy and she reported us for taking the photo. Quite concerning. We will not go back Brian, but now people will know the truth. Thank you for throwing out good customers. We won't be back to your trashy place.

Not willing to help

Cinemark will not help customer after noticing tickets were ordered for wrong night and show past even though ticket was never scanned. Highly disappointed that I paid for the tickets but can’t get them for tonight without ordering and paying again. They need to find a way to put customers before profit.
What happened to helping customers and customer service?

My son and I went and saw the new Venon movie. We got DBox tickets and it was 3D. The 3D feature was lack luster. I sure paid a lot of money for 2 tickets. And it wasn't even that well done w 3D. The Dbox seats were pretty uneventful as well. You would think that with the amount of money The tickets are that it would be something rather unforgettable.

What garbage

What garbage, first you get rid of your employees to use online tools. Then you start charging $2 online fee. I hope you id$&ts go bankrupt. You’re already dying, why would you add $2. I will personally waste gas/time to buy tickets at location just to go against your $2 policy.

I book a movie at the movie theater in Watford. Paid for tickets and showed up prior to the movie time only to find out that they decided to cancel the movie an hour before. They did refund the ticket price but not the booking fee. Will never book with them again. They will cancel your show not fully refund you and waist your time

My online account was hacked and someone used $75 worth of gift cards and 3 of my movie credits and Cinemark refuses to give me any information on how the gift cards were used. How my account was compromised or how I was never notified. They gave my movie credits back but wouldn’t reimburse my gift cards. That I paid for!

Beware of their concession stand

On 8/12/23 I went to the Cinemark theater in Ypsilanti, Mi. to see a movie. I bought a bottle of water and a small popcorn and it was $11.76. When I went to pay for it with my credit card the clerk said my card didn't works so I paid cash. When is got my credit card statement the purchase was also on the statement. I paid $23.52 for a small popcorn and a water.
