Sighing heavily, you glance into the burnished silver mirror in his office, your reflection looking just as uncertain as you feel. This was a big day for both of you; huge in fact. It was to be Perpetua's first Yuletide Address as Frater, and your first time taking part in such an important ritual. You had picked out your outfit months in advance; yet, it still doesn't feel entirely you.
Wandering over to his desk, you open a drawer, fingers shifting aside neatly organised stacks of paperwork, feeling for the false bottom you knew was there. Wood creaks as you press down; reaching into the opening, you pull out a heavy locket on a thick silver chain. Making sure everything was left in its proper place, you close the drawer, backing away to the mirror again.
