Very Shy Hansry Rec List - part 1 (?)

Hullo, while this is an archive account, I kind of wanted to also share some of the works that I love. I will skip the absolute classics from the top, and maybe focus on those more recent works.

First of all, an author rec.

I think you can go to aekee's account and just pick. I love aekee, I read everything by them, very Jane Austeny with gradual buildup, and the dialogue is cracking.

[COMPLETE] For Death is a Black Knight - I love me some outsider POV. Pair it up with the drama that Hans had his armour stolen and now all of Bohemia thinks he's dead (including a certain someone!) and I'm seated, ok? Also love me some Black Knight Henry, it's my weakness, what can I say.

[COMPLETE] Forever Yours, Nocturnal Me - disco is a master of UST and yearning, and the buildup. I love me the buildup. Disco's entire library is worth it, but I feel like everyone knows Binding at this point. In this one Hans never confessed in Suchdol and he is drowning in feelings. Just masterclass from disco.

[COMPLETE] He Loves the Fighting Rings - the one where Henry has a thing for fighting, Hans is suspicious at first and then curious, and they beach the living fuck out of each other.

[WIP as of Jan '26] the far side of things - modern AU where Henry is a mechanic and Hans has a Jag, and their first meeting is less than stellar. I just really like the characterisation in this, as well as the dynamic between them and Hans being a nepo baby who panic buys out a whole chip aisle when a friend comes to visit.

[COMPLETE] Si Vis Amari Ama - Hans is with someone who loves him genuinely for the first time and things get intense. I really love how Caly portrays how different it is for Hans, and Henry is a total champ in this too. Love them. LOVE THEM.

[COMPLETE] The Principles of Chivalry - this one is a bit different, cause it's pre-relationship and a giant Hans character study during the divorce era. But if you are into things like that, then this one REALLY is for you.

[COMPLETE] And You Will Know the Truth - this is a fun little fantasy AU where Hans gets cursed to say the truth while he is in love with his bodyguard, and set to marry someone for the crown.

[COMPLETE] In Sheep's Clothing - not a classic werewolf story, more like: Henry is a shapeshifter. And a certain wolf is always there when Hans is in trouble. And also maybe the wolf is a little jealous. It's one of my alltime favourites now, because I eat shit like this up. Just a good read, charming, and last chapter has a chokehold on me.

[COMPLETE] Amor Consumens - modern AU where Henry joined the military and gets 'fake'-married to Hans before getting deployed. The tags say toxic but I disagree <3 First hansry fic that ever made me cry in the middle (mind you that I do not read MCD). It has a happy ending, absolutely floored me (you can see me losing my mind in the comments), the emails made me ugly cry, and I was so not ok for a while after, but it was so damn worth it. I love it, genuinely.

I drew this after Birdhouse in your soul updated and is now complete. I worked myself into such a frenzy yesterday during reading I legit got a massive headache. It's living in my brain. I LOVE this fic. It has old men yaoi in it, it's my kryptonite.

It also has loads of other things, but trust me, it's so fucking good. SO FUCKING GOOD, so I'm posting this to shill the fic even more:

Also, the graph for this is something I never want to do again. Was it worth it? Absolutely not, but at least I tried.
