saying ding ding ding before the microwave goes off and then cancelling him so he knows hes not special and as a form of chaste and nonsexual torture

i think we forget that the greatest pretender in death note wasn't light, or L, or any one other than misa.

i mean. being an actress, model and pop idol---all occupations that require, no, demand a high level of being able to pretend for your audience's sake. even when you're exhausted you have to put on a smile and do what they want you to do, because that's your job.

and we see this in her life too. she never even seems to be traumatised after solitary confinement (where she was treated worse that light, for that matter) or even after her parents' deaths. we never see this mentioned and she's just this cheery, bubbly girl who never mentions her parents' deaths again. she never shows anything other than utter devotion to light---almost like she's performing for someone else, putting on some kind of screwed-up romance show.

almost like...almost like she's trying to lead the life most women in japan would lead, at that time: being a devoted mother/wife, always being happy, never showing any emotions other than care and love for others...

her whole life was a performance. the world was her stage and i don't think the curtains ever closed.

not until the very end, of course.

You’ve heard of haunting the narrative get ready for terrorising the actual shit out of the narrative

fully belive venti should take no fall damage ever. hes literally the WIND. there should be a dvalin animation so that right before he hits the ground he is gently lifted by giant claws and put down gently while a disembodied voice scolds him for being careless
