dorcas never had a lot of friends at hogwarts. she never quiet felt safe in slytherin, as her fellow housemates fostered hate and anti-muggle sentiments.
to survive, she wrapped herself in a cold, icey shell, and she got so good at hiding her emotions that after a while she couldn't remember how to get at them. always playing the confident but cold antagonist, even to her own house. always good with witty comebacks, but unable to truly open up.
she told herself she didn't need friends. she told herself she didn't want them, because she was only at hogwarts to succeed. to best the class, to become head girl, and to get out. but secretly, when lying alone at night, she hurt.
the change was pandora. pandora, who came into her life as an outsider. a ravenclaw who she had herbology with. someone entirely unphased by her insults, by the cold casing she was wrapped in. pandora who seemed content to carry the weight of conversation, who seemed to accept dorcas without wishing for kindness or softness. she wasn't expectant, and so dorcas didn't have to do much more than let her keep talking and listen along.

Trans Lily who chose her name because her mum’s garden of lilies was her first safe place. Sitting among the flowers, she didn’t have to pretend to be someone she wasn’t, just one of them. Years later, James sometimes brings her lilies instead of roses because he knows they weren’t just her name but a reminder of everything she had fought for to become herself.

Evan Rosier Headcannons!!
Because I love him sm, majority of these are me projecting onto him
- Asexual Evan. I know this is quite a common headcannon but it is one of my favourites.
- Following on from that I think in any relationships he was in prior to whoever you ship him with, he would very much force himself to have sex with his partner because he thought they wouldn't love him other wise. He hated it but he wanted to make his partner happy so he did it anyway.
- He went through a patch where he had an alcohol problem, he would get drunk whenever anything went wrong. It ended up with Regulus and Barty having to genuinely stage an intervention because they were worried about him. So he just stopped drinking entirely because he associated it with the bad times he went through
- He never really had a person who was his gay awakening, he just always knew he liked guys
- Will drink literally anything that's hot, has such an addiction to coffee and tea but still loves a hot chocolate
- Proud red bull hater, he doesn't get how Barty drinks it but he loves monster
- Metal and indie music but he'd also love a bit of punk. He'd like ghost, slipknot, korn, James marriott, seb lowe, the sex pistols and system of a down
- Converse wearer, has one pair of low docs that he rarely wears cause they're not broke in but he's always wearing black or white converse
- Only gets piercings on his ears, but he has so many. He has an industrial trust me and he has his a double helix on the other ear
- So many tattoos, all done by Barty. Lots of stick and pokes, then he found a tattoo gun so Evans got loads of them
- Would 100% have a pet tarantula called something like snowy.
"Oh yea I need to go feed snowy"
"Aw is that a cat or dog?"
"She's my tarantula"
- And he'd have reptiles. Lizards, frogs, snakes, you name it he's probably got it. They're treated like absolute royalty.
- Swaps identities with Pandora for April fools to freak people out, Regulus didn't fall for it somehow even though everyone else did
- Makes his own jewellery, he has the proper tools for making stuff too.
- He's one of the people that refuses to pay people to do stuff. He will be painting his own house and learning how to fit sinks just because he doesn't want to get someone to do it.
- Everytime he sees Barty or Regulus in the corridors he jumps on them just for fun. The amount of times they've went flying across halls because Evan took a run and jump at them.
- PEs number one hater, unless its badminton because he's such a pro at it (he fell under the net trying to hit the shuttlecock once)
- Writes the best essays. Hates writing and says he's so bad at it but then writes a perfect essay in an hour.
- Staged a whole fake argument with Dorcas in the middle of class one time just so they would get sent out because they were bored.
- Goes to the toilet every single period but just goes wanders, literally never in class.
- Has the worse rbf when he's by himself but can't stop smiling when he's with his friends.
- Doctors handwriting and he's left handed.
- Such a history nerd (muggle and wizard) ask him about the witch trials and he will not shut up for hours
- Has the best Halloween costumes because he makes them himself

- only child but in a lonely way, he had important parents who were always working. they were good to him but had very high expectations
