"Why not just shift to a reality where ___ never happened?"

(My take)

Soo I've noticed that whenever shifters in general talk about any kind of trauma (whether from DRs or Present realities) people tend to ask this question, so yeah here's my take on why they may not choose to. Not speaking for everyone, just a thought.

I understand that some people are genuinely curious but sometimes it's difficult for shifters to articulate why they don't choose to or they don't even know why themselves, so this is just what i imagine happens most of the time and what i think is the reason why shifters don't shift to realities where *insert scenario* never happened or choose to forget traumatic experiences from DRs.

When you have a nightmare and you wake up, you know it's not real. Right? But there's times when the nightmare was so disturbing that even if it wasn't real, even if you've been awake for hours since and even if you know it never happened in reality, you still have lingering feelings from it. (i.e fear, hurt, sadness etc)

Because reality or not, you still experienced it.

Because you still need time to process it and then forget about it.

Likewise, maybe if someone shifted to a reality where something didn't happen (especially if it was recent) they'd still feel the aftereffects on it. So maybe subconsciously, they know they need time and space before scripting it away so they process it in a healthy way and are able to properly move on.

That as well as something traumatic could have shaped up the person that someone became and deep downmaybe they feel that if they scripted it away, it would make less sense for them to be who they are now, even if they love their current personality or associate heavily with it since it would be out of context. (Eg having a certain habit, having certain reactions fo certain actions, certain personality traits)

Because mentally their mind is still the same or their patterns and habits are.

I don't know if this makes sense (hope it does though) but yeah, I've thought about this general question a lot and that's what i came up with so yeahh lemme hear your thoughts on it if you have any.

Ultimately, shifters, don't feel pressured to do anything you're not ready for or explain anything you don't want to. Just do what feels right and what makes sense to you ♡

Guys, this is random but is it only me who hates when people try to make shifting so... underwhelming? And no, i don't mean by advising people to take it off the pedestal or talking about how normal being in DRs feels like.

Yes, shifting is normal, yes its not magic and yes, everyone already shifts every second.

But just because its normal, doesn't mean it can't be special. Doesn't mean that we shouldn't acknowledge that it is amazing. Like, hello, we can have every single thing we ever wanted with just our brains?? Change our surroundings in a literal blink of an eye?? Meet fictional characters in realities where they're just regular people?? Even date our favourite celebrities!!

I'd say that's pretty fucking amazing.

I think that the main reason many people are demotivated is because in trying to be nonchalant about shifting, they let go of their excitement, their passion.

A lot of people shift demotivated anyway but if you're struggling with motivation? With doubt?Go back to your first script. Your first DR. Remember what made you get into shifting and rediscover that same excitement that drove you to try.

Give it a go, what do you have to lose anyway?
