I wonder how often long-running series have those storylines that give people doing a rewatch absolute Mind Blown Epiphanies, going "holy shit they foreshadowed this plot arch just once, in an one-time gag, sixteen years ago!" were actually prompted by the original writer/artist going like "ah shit I ran out of plot" and going back to rewatch the first few chapters and suddenly remembering "wait hold on, I never gave any kind of an explanation to why the hell the gardener can apparently just fuse through a wall whenever someone else has opinions about pipe tobacco."
You know those pet peeves you have about subjects that you barely know anything about, but nonetheless you know just enough about it to be annoyed by the overconfident opinions of people who clearly know even less about it than you do?
Let's take fashion history. I want to bite someone in the face every time I hear someone compare the long-term damage and permanent injury caused by wearing corsets, to the long-term damage and permanent injury caused by foot binding.
Like bitch shut the fuck up, what the hell are you doing writing articles about the history of anything if that's the level of basic knowledge you have? It is possible to wear a corset so incorrectly that it causes serious, irreversible and permanent damage, or even death. With footbinding, causing irreversible and permanent damage is the entire goal. Crushing the feet in a way where they cannot be unfucked without breaking them up all over again is literally the point.
You're comparing the kind of injury caused by being insanely bad at wearing a bra, to the kind of injury caused by someone folding your socks while you're still wearing them.
As more and more people are being forced to switch to Windows 11, Microsoft's most AI-malware-ridden OS yet, I've been putting together articles and links for how to undo the damage and save your battery, your RAM, your disk space, your privacy, and your sanity from this bullshit.
FIRST:
The easiest way to get rid of the majority of the bullshit that Windows is forcing on us, as of October 2025, is this one-stop-one-click debloat solution from a modern day hero:
It's very easy, even if you're not tech savvy or get scared of pop up windows saying "ARE YOU SURE?" Yes, you are sure, I promise. This program takes maybe two minutes and will save you SO MUCH pain, time, and money (and exploitation).
Now that you've done that, here's the cleanup, to catch the little shit that the debloat might have missed (most of this will already be done by debloat, but hey, it's good to double check).
Even just reading about some of these features makes me angry. Fucking Copilot and "Discover" AI scrapers are in Notepad. NOTEPAD. And then there's this uncanny valley garbage:
No uncanny valley video calls for me, thanks! (Also, what else is it doing while it scans your face and listens to your calls? What else, microsoft? Because there was a lot of memory being assigned to this program for a simple "smooths your skin" add on).
The truly insane number of places they have stuck ads on your own home computer is sickening. Become Unmarketable.
Bonus:
Some background programs you probably don't need that are taking up space and how to remove them (Microsoft forums, 2024)
Your Samsung Galaxy Phone comes with 22 apps you don't need (Android Police, 2025)
How to disable the AI in firefox (still the only browser that lets you do this permanently) (Windows Report, 2025)
"Teaching children about the history of slavery implies to white children that they're inherently evil and responsible for things that happened a long time ago.
No, it doesn't. White people are not inherently evil. During slavery, white people had a wide variety of responses to it. Some white people owned slaves. Some white people who owned slaves treated them how bosses treat employees today. Some white people raped and tortured their slaves. Some white people were slave catchers. Some white people were nonchalant about slavery and didn't actively support it but still gave their business to slave owners. Some white people didn't like slavery but were more angry about the protests against it. Some white people wanted to protest against slavery but weren't able to safely do so. Some white people regularly attended or hosted demonstrations against slavery. Some white people helped slaves escape. Some white people used violence in opposition to slavery.
Black people were also not a monolith. Some black people were slaves. Some black people who were slaves tried to get on the master's good side, hoping to be treated better than the other slaves. Some black people who were slaves tried to escape or lead revolutions. Some black people owned slaves or were slave catchers.
Nothing about the history of slavery even comes close to implying that white people or black people are monoliths.
But it does make children more aware of what patterns challenged slavery and what patterns upheld slavery. Then, when they hear their father say something "totally not racist", they'll know exactly how it's racist, because it will be very similar to what white people in the past said about slaves.
Teaching children about the history of racism won't make them think all white people are racist. But it will make them more able to figure out which white people are racist. And racist white people don't like that.
people needdddd to wear headphones in public because while on an otherwise very lovely walk in the park today i saw a guy sitting under a tree watching a porn parody of the star wars prequels
if nothing else trying to tune out the sounds of anakin and padme going to town as i contemplate the babbling brook gave me a brief but vivid window into what it’s like to be obi wan kenobi
Gonna chill out the rest of May and then change my entire life in June. Possibly July if that doesn't work out. Certainly no later than September or October.
Uh oh
