All jokes aside, Dead Poets Society is one of the best pieces of media ever created.

Somehow, so many teens - especially queer teens - feel represented by this cohort of boys from the late 1950s. I'm talking the teens under pressure to be perfect, the teens who have a difficult relationship with their parents, the teens struggling to find their identity, and so many more. The teens who have all been trying so desperately to be heard, have all been recognised by the Dead Poets Society.

I just want everyone to be aware the Will, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Max graduated in 1989. Dead Poets Society came out on June 2nd, 1989.

Mike: guys there’s this new movie coming out called Dead Poets Society and it’s about a group boys at a private school! We need to go see it!

Will: oh yeah they read poetry and do a bunch of art stuff! That would be awesome!

Dustin: oh my god yeah! It’s been a while since we’ve been to the movies as a group!

Max and Lucas who saw the movie on their movie theatre date: …

Fast forward to when the party gets out of the theatre after watching Dead Poets Society.

Dustin, Will, Mike: ….

Max and Lucas: ….

Dustin: what the fuck is wrong with you guys???

Will: you didn’t think to tell us the main character KHS!?

Lucas: it was a film you needed to experience blind.

Max: guys I don’t think Mike is good.

Mike:

Holy shit, mike is a repressed closeted queer boy who can never tell his story. hopefully in the one he writes, he actually gets the boy. Tiktok

When it took like 5 minutes to kill Vecna, I thought the Mind Flayer was going to shift primary hosts to Will, but no, that would've been too interesting probably

and if i said the duffers exploited noah and wills queerness..

YEARS WITHOUT THEM AND HERE WE ARE. LOOK AT THESE TWO. THEY ARE SOULMATES

I feel so bad for millie bobby brown, she gave up her whloe childhood for this show and then in the last season she was sidelined and got one of the worst endings possible for her character

She didn't get to do any of the lasts with the crew because she wasn't even apart of any of it. If the rumours are true and she didn't go to the finale party or watch thing I completely understand why

That poor girl has been ruthlessly bullied by the Internet her entire career and now the show she gave her childhood to gave the character she loved so much such a horrible ending

I also feel bad for Noah because of the amount of homophobia surrounding his character and storyline by the fans and even the duffers.

The stranger things cast deserved a better written ending than one written by the duffers whose egos are too high to realise they didn't make a masterpiece of a ending/season

byler was infact queerbait and if you disagree, you're wrong.

queerbait is when the creators deliberately frame same-gender relationships using romantic or queer-coded tropes to attract queer audiences, but never follow through with it. so basically byler.

if byler didn't have a chance of being endgame, they would've made a statement years ago. they know their fanbase and they know majority of it is filled with bylers. and before u say, "if they made a statement it would've spoiled it." exactly. if it would've spoiled the show, that means there was a VERY CLEAR chance of it happening.

byler was 100% queerbait, it wasn't just us getting our hopes up.

not to mention, they dragged out will's love for mike for 5 seasons straight and then watered it down to a silly hallway crush only a couple days later of him asking robin how she knew vickie wanted to date.

netflix has used byler as promotion MULTIPLE TIMES! such as using the crazy together scene in a slideshow of "101 ways to say i love you without saying it", using mike and will for 'bf material' slideshows, and calling el a thirdwheel and saying byler was the real couple? that IS queerbait. it's relationship framing and they framed byler romantically.
