The finale was over the moment they decided to make the final showdown a physical fight and not a mind fight where Vecna targets everyone and tries to drive them to insanity with their worst nightmares. One gave us cool jumps and some running ig. The other would've been a perfect way to not only quickly wrap up all the characters that got a bit forgotten or had already been resolved but also a beautiful way of showing Will's "I'm not afraid anymore" and enriching Mike from a cardboard nothingburger to absolute Eldorado. El also could've met a more meaningful end than that absolute atrocity.
