practicing radical acceptance about the fact that I'm always gonna be weird and awkward and a little difficult to be around. it's okayyyy to be weird as hell

Unofficial Autism Post

i'm in this funny situation where, by any "normal" definition of the concept, i'm absolutely not doing well. like i'm unemployed and rapidly running out of money, my studying is going piss poorly, house is perpetually messy and all that, ducks are generally misaligned if you catch my drift. but then on a personal level i'm actually feeling pretty damn good about how things are going, you know. strange way to be and really idk what to do about it.

i'm gonna have to perform normalcy to a degree and get a job and stuff, and everybody keeps telling me that That's The Thing I Should Aspire To but. i kinda don't? like parents and such are all like "oh but your life will be so chill once you have a job" but i don't buy it. sure, i'll find something i like doing, but in the end there's always gonna be some dip shit expecting me to do things for them, for their profit margin.

i think the point is that i think someone should pay me to be a weird guy who likes to learn about interesting things but that's not considered "productive" by broader society so i guess i'll go fuck myself or something. i need this whole notion of "things are only worth doing if they make you/someone else money" to fucking die already. like hell, even the most "weird guy who learns about things" jobs also come with a shitload of begging other assholes for money. like applying for grants and shit. fuck that and fuck you!

oh and the best part, of course, is that my options are either grit my teeth and bear it or fuckin starve out on the streets. that's fucking lovely. this is a lovely economic system we've got here. i love having to quite literally sell myself to even be able to live.

‼️Helping me means helping 5 members of my family..‼️

🥶We're freezing🥶

Hello, I'm Wasim from Gaza, in Al-Mawasi specifically... My family and I were displaced from Rafah after hardship, bombing, displacement, and hunger.😭😔

Now we have been away from our city and our beautiful home for 9 months. We have lost our house that my father built stone by stone and he worked 24/7 to build this house. But the occupation destroyed it, and no house remained in my beautiful city remained intact.😭💔💔

We are now living in a tent or semi-tent, which does not protect us from the cold of winter or the rain. Our lives are very difficult.😔😭

Thanks to your donations, we have been able to buy food and flour, and now I am asking you for help to buy a tent that will protect us from the cold of winter. We do not know what it means to sleep because of the extreme cold.🥶

This is our tent made of fabric and some nylon, not closed on one side. We are freezing from the cold. Help us to buy a new tent. You are our last hope.😭🥶🥶🙏

I also want to ask for help for my mother, who is the most precious thing in my life. Without her, I am nothing...

She has a back cartilage disease and is in great pain. She needs physical therapy, medicine, and vitamins, and I am unable to provide them. Help my mother receive treatment.🙏🙏😭

There is literally nothing more powerful on this planet than taking a 15 minute walk twice every day.

If you have ADHD like me, walk 15 minutes twice a day like your life depends on it.

should we not be on our phones during 15 minute walk, boss?

That phone is better off dead than in your hands.

Take a musician's advice: without.

But... but it's cold...

The purpose of The Walk is to factory-reset your brain from the effects of overstimulation. The fewer things hindering your ability to think is best. Music is an external influence on your brain. As great as it is, it still hinders self-motivated thought and blocks you from attuning to the outdoors as easily. Everyone's different, but that's me.

Can confirm. I went undiagnosed for over 20 years mostly because I was taking multiple hours of dance classes per week for those 20 years. We had NO inkling that anything was ‘wrong’ with me until after I stopped dancing and my entire ability to function imploded.

Physical activity is CRUCIAL, neurodivergent friends. It is non-negotiable.

It’s not about burning calories or losing weight or getting gains or whatever, it’s simply about moving your muscles until the chaff in your brain blows away.

Also, the effect is very much cumulative. When I stopped dancing after 20 years of dancing six days a week, it took months before my brain caught up to the sudden lack of fitness activities and self-destructed. 15 minutes a day will give you exponential results, I promise.

(Also, if you ABSOLUTELY need music or a snack just to get you out the door for the first two weeks, then do that to get started, but aim to wean yourself off of them as soon as you are able.)

(Something I like to do on walks to hold my attention is to guess how old the houses are and/or when they were last renovated. My dad’s a contractor so thanks to him I can usually guess within the decade. The renovated ones are the most fun because then you have to figure out when the original structure what built despite the renovation trying to make it look newer than it really is.

Another variation you could try is count the different species of plants or birds you see or try to headcanon people’s personalities based on their window dressings or landscaping. Sometimes my dad will go out with a trash bag specifically to look for pop/beer cans in the ditch and collect them to take to recycling — spring is a great time for this as there are usually TONS of cans hiding under the snow that get revealed when it melts.

Basically just make a game of observing your surroundings to keep you off your phone and keep you moving as you look for the next thing that you’re counting. Remember the old I Spy game? It’s that but for grownups.)

Just saw a leather jacket that says “my other ride is your dad” on the back and I don’t think I’ll ever be the same

let’s give credit where it’s due and thank ms. bob the drag queen

my take for the day. being edgy (and i mean shadow the hedgehog, 2005 mcr, scene kid edgy. not 4chan edgy) is in fact very good and i’d say even important

genuine expression of your emotions, especially your negative ones, is incredibly important to keep your mental health in check. doing it through music (listening or creating), clothes, makeup, poetry, etc is a safe and healthy way to do it

bottling up your emotions is never good. if listening to bring me the horizon helps you process your views on the world, do it. if smudging your eyeliner feels like you’re matching your inside to your outside, do it. if drawing bloody characters makes you feel better, do it. who cares if some boring loser thinks it’s cringe. do it for yourself

Ok so it's clear to me that some of y'all are having issues with this video. As someone who understands breed specific behaviors and dog body language this shit is objectively hilarious to me. Lemme explain why:

Beagles are a very vocal breed. They are hound dogs, specifically hunters, so their job is to communicate and be extra loud when excited or a "treat" is found.

Due to their nature as hounds, and in part genetically predisposed health issues, they get fat often. They're prone to eat too much and need exercise. Old beagles tend to get over weight.

This dog is not biting, frustrated, or aggressive. He's wagging his tail, licking his owner, and engaging in hunting behaviors (barking, sniffing, pointing, and nipping.) This dog is trying to catch his treat. He's working for his reward.

TLDR: The dog is having fun. Don't take it seriously. Using a crunchy mic with a beagle makes his barking sound so funny. Enjoy the humor.
