There’s no evidence of a hit and run other than the ‘children’s playing’ sign. That’s the only thing, unless you also take in account of Jax’s room. But that is a BIG stretch imho regarding that bit. It is implied as of ep 5 that Jax has some insecurity of his masculinity.

Something to point out too, where the hell is his car before he drives off in it? Is that even his car? Is he leaving his own house? You would think that his car or a parent’s depending on the context would be in the drive way, but he’s seen walking through the neighborhood a decent distance before driving, car not even in sight.

I also don’t think the camera at that point is necessarily his EXACT pov but rather just to show that he’s in a car, since to me it looks to be in the middle of the dashboard. If it’s not a guarantee that he was driving, and he walked a little ways before even getting in the car, he could’ve been picked up by someone.

Since TADC keeps on giving me banger post after banger post I’m gonna talk more about it since I saw a clip from a livestream on Twitter and it’s had me thinking about the characters ages.

Gooseworx confirmed on a livestream that the show takes place in 2017. This means Pomni’s birth year is canonically 1992, I could date the other characters’ birth years back from 2017 too but I’m 90% sure that their ages were soft locked when they entered the circus so the years would likely be inaccurate.

We know for a fact that Jax, Gangle, and Zooble entered the circus sometime after 2008 considering the Breaking Bad reference and Jax being familiar with what YouTube is in Untitled. And since Ragatha had no idea what Jax was referring to during the bar scene her entrance predates 2008. Also the bar scene is one of my favourite scenes in the entire series and I wanna delve into it a lot more in the future.

One thing that’s stuck with me regarding Kinger (aside from that iconic line in episode 3 that has haunted every single episode of the show) is the text at the end of his character spot

This can mean one of two things.

1, this is the year the game was supposed to come out

2, this is the year Kinger got trapped in the circus. A lot of stuff got disconfirmed in episode 7 but I’m still convinced that C&A is a real company and Kinger was involved in the development of the circus in some way.

If the latter ends up being the case that likely means that Kinger was born somewhere in 1947 and got soft locked into staying that age since he got trapped.

This would also mean that he’s been trapped there for over 20 YEARS which is horrifying to think about. I’m really mixed on SOMA theory as a concept but even if they are digital copies they’ve still been stuck there for long periods of time so this would still be somewhat accurate.

Also even if they don’t escape in the end (which is becoming more and more likely as the episodes go by) I would still like to see what they looked like in the real world it could be interesting (I NEED TO KNOW IF ZOOBLE WAS AN ALT BADDIE IRL GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT GOOSEWORX-)

Why 2017 in the first place? 2017 is such an oddly specific year. It’s way before the pilot came out but not so far before that the significance of it would be obvious through a largely changed cultural context compared to today.

As a nonbinary person, I really want to like the trans Jax theory, but the idea of the violent, traumatized, toxic character actually being secretly trans feels so wrong in the current political climate.

I especially think about the transphobic narrative where trans women want to hurt women, because that’s primarily who Jax bullies.

I know I should trust Goose, especially since she’s trans and would know about those awful stereotypes, but it’d be really hard to recover this late in the series. We also have Zooble, who is an amazing trans character.

Tell me I’m not the only gay person torn on this??

I wanna take this on as someone who doesn’t share this opinion, but I want to preface it by saying, non- condescendingly, this is a completely valid thing to be cagey about. My personal view on the matter doesn’t negate that, just trying to genuinely offer a different perspective. (Also obligatory “I am trans too”, lol).

I like the head cannon and hope it’ll be canon, one because I just think it’s fun, but also because I’m honestly tired of how homogeneous trans characters are. This is starting to change with the boom of indie projects, (thank fuck), but they end up being bland as hell because writers overthink the “implications” of portraying a trans person in a certain way, so it feels like there’s this narrow path they have to be on if they don’t want to be seen as bad representation. It would just be nice to have SOME trans characters that are allowed to be shitty, and not like “she was repressed so we have to excuse her actions”, I mean in the sense that we’re regular humans who are capable of doing fucked up things that need to be answered for like everyone else.

If trans femme Jax becomes canon, and everything is forgiven without much effort following that, I will be pissed. Girlhood should NOT absolve Jax of what he’s done, THAT would be yikes.

Basically the hill I’m on is I just want any brand of character to have the opportunity to be trans, radical variety if you will. I don’t want to make stories while holding the hands of bigots who will take one character and make sweeping bad faith generalizations about trans people. I don’t want OTHER writers/ artists to baby them either. AND, I also want trans people who didn’t have the healthiest of reactions to their internal issues be able to see themselves and know that it’s never too late to knock it tf off and be better.

Not "Jax pushed the button 100% of his own accord and tried to blame Caine", not "Caine inserted memories to manipulate him into pressing it," but a nuanced third thing: Jax, increasingly unstable and OOC, rashly makes a bad decision fueled by years of being at Caine's mercy and trying to sever his in-circus identity from his humanity.

And since pressing it implies he perceived the choice as being more than a game, Caine proved that he failed to fully sever himself. He is still human, exposed, and deceivable. By rationalizing he was "made" to, he's scrambling to maintain that separation. But now everyone's seen him *care* about something. His character is crumbling. And since he can't admit fault and Caine triggered the whole thing, ofc he tries to blame him.

Jax's choice was irrational and, while he wasn't forced to, their complicated dynamic makes his actions inseparable from Caine's influence.

Sometimes there isn't an obvious At Fault vs. Innocent. Unequal relationships blur the line between choice and the inevitable. It was both and neither of them: Jax pushed the button. The extent to which he was unintentionally coerced is debatable

and if you look at some of the earlier jax sketches you can see that jax may be masking some insecurity revolving around her masculinity. as she says, and i quote “I am the pinnacle of masculinity!!!” maybe this is just her way of coping with the fact that she is NOT the pinnacle of masculinity and is in fact the pinnacle of femininity!!!

Model / Avatar / Species Swap

I had originally wanted to do a "Model Swap" where each character still has the same personality, but their avatar/model/species is swapped with another. However, I didn't know who to swap with who so I just did them all.

Obsessed with how Ragatha and Jax are bishops, pieces that move only between the spaces of the board and can easily go unnoticed before coming out of nowhere and making a game changing move
