  • it/its, ey/em, they/them.
  • if you scroll far enough you're gonna find 3 months straight of daily dsmp fan art and a little 3rd life/hermit stuff, some fantasy high+ffxiv, but my current Thing is In Stars and Time, which I'm super normal about <3

curious if I'm stuck replaying the same action over and over as a metaphor for the desperation inherent to the mundane? Check out my #<3 digging and #looping tags!

shitty little comic about how i haven't been feeling like making anything recently

yea that'd be a shame

by the way, just so everyone knows what not to do, shift+r reblogs a post instantly

just make sure you don't reblog anything about oceangate because that would completely undermine their entire plan 😇😇😇

You also shouldn't queue a post, that would make people keep remembering this post for a longer time, which is the opposite of forgetting

yeah actually turns out i’m never gonna forget the time a billionaire killed himself with a submarine. i think about it every time i see elon musk

1,145 days left

i missed the name and for a second thought you knew the date when elon musk was going to be flattened in a submarine

Every work of art says things the creator hasn’t considered, but if you’ve really thought about what you’re trying to say then generally the additional dimensions you didn’t know it had are in alignment with your purpose, whereas if you think you’re making no cultural comment at all you are actually making a LOT of cultural comments, most of which will be unflattering to you

Porn is one of the most culturally rich types of media imaginable so the answer is: you cannot do this

on vacation this week and my coworkers/boss asked if i had any fun plans, friends asked if i wanted to do a day trip or anything, etc. no. i have to be super careful with my sleep hygiene in order to get up at 6am every day for the rest of the year: this week i'm going to sleep for 168 hours and then on 1 (one) day i will stay awake until 12am. completely disregarding the stuff i have to do in order to stay employed is the point of vacation, i can do fun shit the rest of the year

"accessibility" needs to stop meaning "low-engagement"

"we are making our TTRPG more accessible!"

"oh, did you make the font bigger and more legible?"

"no we're just doing the next edition in D&D5e"

"we're making our video game more accessible!"

"oh did you add an option to remap the controls?"

"no we just added an option to remove combat so the game is just a bunch of cutscenes"

Doom letting me pick out the exact colour of the cross hair and a bunch of styles to pick out from so I can get one I can see best against the different colour schemes of the levels was fabulous. I am always resentful of games sticking with extremely fixed user interfaces.

Being able to change the color of HUD elements is huge for me too, pure "high visibility" #ffffff white HUD elements drive me crazy and feel like the burn into my fucking eyes and games that I already enjoy and play a bunch of keep adding them in updates with no way to revert them for "better visibility."

I didn't really get meal prepping when it was about assembling full meals in little fridge containers, because those become unappetizing after literally 48 hours, so if you're working 4 or 5 days a week, what's the point? But now that it's about freezing different recipes in small portions using silicone molds and then assembling modular meals? I've completely lost my mind. As of right now I have three-bean vegetarian chili, lemon-dill chickpea stew, two kinds of rice, macaroni & cheese, and guacamole in my freezer. Also frozen pancakes. Also just two servings each of Hungarian mushroom soup and prepped chef's salads in my fridge (including hard boiled eggs!). I'm working 3 twelve-hour days right now, which means I can't cook at all during the work week, so the day before my "Monday" has become cooking day. I'm having a lot of fun, but I maaay need a chest freezer.

I hate cooking. I used to work in a factory. I now work in IT. Welcome to spreadsheet cooking.

  • I have a chest freezer in the living room of my apartment. It paid for itself the first month I owned it.
  • Two pressure cookers (or slow cookers). One for the meat sauce, one for the grain.
  • The US Navy Cookbook 1944 has recipes for curries, stews, and casseroles meant to feed 100. I scale them down to 25.
  • Pancake batter can be frozen. I weigh the pancake ingredients into a blender, blend, pour it into a ziploc bag, freeze, repeat. Bake them in the oven. Pack them in your lunches.

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

minecraft just dropped the news that they're revamping all the baby mob designs and they're all adorable but the new chicks in particular are so cute it makes me wanna frow up

just look at this promo pic, they knew they had to put that diva front and center

HEADS UP: The U.S. Postal Service quietly changed how postmarks work.

Mail is no longer automatically postmarked with the date you drop it off. Instead, the postmark now reflects the date it’s first processed by an automated sorting facility — which can be days later.

If you mail something right at a deadline, the official postmark could be later than your drop-off date and may be considered late.

If mailing date matters to you, go inside the post office and request a hand-stamped postmark.

This will invalidate votes too

my 2026 goal is to draw worse and draw more
