I have such a deep love for the Saint and the Sinner dynamic and I love the way it’s being built with Gwynriel. Azriel is questioning everything and just wants to feel worthy after spending centuries being blood soaked, in his own blood and the blood of others.
His hands represent his childhood trauma, but they also represent his present as the Night Court’s torturer, the role he has been playing since he finally proved himself to be more “special” than just another bastard born Illyrian at a war camp. The brutal role he has led for five centuries.
And just when he’s at his lowest, in walks in Gwyn, a Priestess with bright eyes and a soft glow. The kind of light his shadows don’t flee from. Instead, she’s the first in five books to smile at his shadows. The dark power manifested from his trauma, greeted with a genuine smile.
His restlessness settles in her presence and she sees him for who he is, not what his hands have done. Just when he’s questioning their Creator, the shadows lead him to this Priestess, and the image of her eyes begins to light the darkness in his chest.

Hi! I've come across your art before (which is amazing!), but never on AO3. It looks like one of your art pieces was posted there today with a link to your patreon, presumably so people could check all the stuff you have available for patrons. The art piece I saw on AO3 was the SFW version of the Haladriel art titled 'the darkness and his light queen' with the same blurred patreon pic included that you had on your post too.
Not sure if it was posted by you since the AO3 username was different, but just wanted to let you know in case it got posted by someone else. The work was reported already, so it'll be taken down regardless as it breaks AO3 TOS - Patreon mentions are not allowed on the site.
