Hi! My name is Tye. I write fic for various fandoms, and yell about comic books and video games. Horror is my specialty, but I fuck with other things too.

My Twitter: Cannibal_Wings  <== I abandoned Twitter cuz it sucks there My Bluesky: cannibal-wings <== I post here now instead.

I don't have a DNI or anything like that, it's not revolutionary to say "If you're a dickhead don't follow". But know that if you're a fandomcop or headcanon police anyone for any reason, please know that I'm of the opinion that you're the type of person who actively ruins fandoms and makes everything suck for everyone else. Be brave enough to be kind. On and offline.

A collection of pretty much all the fanart I’ve done for @cannibal-wings fanfic “You Pay the Cost”.

as you might be able to tell, I never finish anything, and I’m not ashamed

Leon is a scary little bug man and we love him, also the fanfic is really amazing and I can’t wait for more!!!

I'm obsessed with these, holy shit. Esp the sketch of him on all fours??? Incredible. I love the way you drew the extra arms all doing other stuff, it's my favorite part of giving him extra arms. Ahhhhh. Seeing these made my whole day better.

You Weren't Meant to Be Human by Andrew Joseph White was a heck of a fun read.

I'll write a full review later, but I just finished it. Please mind the warnings on this one, but it was good. Trans pregnancy horror and a worm cult? Very interesting premise and it delivered. I have one problem with the climax of the story, but again, I'll save that for the full review.

It's been a while since I read a book this fast, the pacing was great. I recommend it, it touches a lot of uncomfortable topics, so again, mind the warnings, but I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Daughter: You realize this puts you in the top 1% of the top 1%, right? The elite of the elite! That's extremely good.

Father: *glaring at his brand new "#272993 Dad" mug* I still don't like it.

Father's Co-Worker: *drinking out of a "#5122653 Dad" mug* How was Father's Day?

Father: *feeling smug* Pretty great, actually.

I'm not sure if I'll have anything worth sharing for WIP Wed tomorrow, so instead, here are some cold weather facts for my infected Leon! (Verdugo/Plaga mix from my fic You Pay the Cost)

Very minor spoilers for post fic stuff.

Leon doesn't do well with cold at all anymore. For obvious reasons, bugs aren't typically out during the winter. The base he's moved to is in northern North America, where the winters get pretty brutal.

The first winter is terrible, mostly because he doesn't know how he's going to react, everything is a new experience. It gets easier the more years he has behind him.

He is quick to freeze and moving around helps but mostly he just wants to go home and sleep. Leon notes that it feels like he's being torn on what to do. There's a part of him that wants to go into a deep sleep, like torpor, but there's another side of him that wants to keep being active. The remedy to this is just that he sleeps more frequently and for longer. Occasionally he becomes very slow to wake all the way up, esp if its from a nap. Danger snaps him to attention more quickly, its hard to override some of the survival instincts and he can be alert fast if something triggers that kind of response.

Clothing is hard for him that first year, it takes him a while to learn how to sew his own clothes. But eventually he gets a winter and summer wardrobe down. For winters he's in layers. Two layers of shirts and then a thick poncho over the top. Coats and things with sleeves are not worth the effort due to his multiple arms. The one coat he made had just two arm holes for his main arms with the secondary arms kept tucked to the chest. Similarly pants are difficult for him, but he manages. Those are typically baggy or tied at the knee to avoid the spikes on his shins. He cannot wear shoes or boots, and during the warmer parts of the year, that's not that bad. But in the winter his feet get cold pretty quick. He usually wraps his feet with cloth, which helps a little bit. For his tail he made a custom cover that is attached with various belts all the way down the tail and secured around the waist. Gloves are tough with his talons so he prefers mittens when he's just walking around base. If he needs the use of his hands he made custom gloves that go around his claws. He can wear hats normally, and scarves. Even though his outer jaws cover his face, they too get cold, so its not uncommon to see him with a scarf pulled up over his outer jaws as well. (I will someday draw out a full dress guide for the various things he wears)

His apartment on base is kept very warm, like, you should plan on changing into shorts and a tank if you decide to visit warm. If for whatever reason he can't heat the apartment to an obnoxious degree, he'll always have a blanket or two around his shoulders. Heated blankets are a blessing, and Ashley gets him multiple for Christmas. (Heated mattress pads are also a blessing.) Sometimes he'll just curl up around a space heater. Due to the amount of heaters or space heaters running, the apartment gets pretty dry, so there's also a couple of humidifiers in various rooms, his carapace and skin are prone to drying out and its best to not let that happen. He's very fond of long, hot, showers and then just sitting in the steamy room after. Ashley will frequently come home to find him under a pile of blankets on the couch sleeping.

When he's cold he'll sometimes vibrate his wings, its good to help blood circulation without needing to go anywhere, and keeps the thin wings from freezing too bad. He gets more irritable in the winter but tries to not let it get to him too bad. Leon can still go outside, he can still do winter activities, he just has to be aware that he has different limits now and will get cold, sometimes dangerously so, faster than he used to. But with proper gear he does a lot better.

Hi I'm back again I can't help myself!! You mentioned a few characters and your designs for their shells and such, and Im curious enough to ask what you think the ouroboros would do in You Pay The Cost's universe? Specifically maybe Wesker? I took another hour to reread everything again my brainworms are so intense, much love ❤️❤️!!

So, and I've mentioned this before, but I have very loose ideas for some post game stories for You Pay the Cost. Some of it is very domestic, life as a big bug type stuff. Adjusting, learning to love yourself, learning that others can like and even love you back despite being a big bug monster. BUT some of it is less domestic. I have my own original mission planned, as well as some very, very, early in development plans for a version of the movie Damnation, and POSSIBLY RE6. Maybe. I'm not making any promises, and it probably wouldn't be a full rewrite like what I'm doing with RE4R. I hadn't considered doing RE5 solely because it wasn't a Leon story, and given some plot stuff that'll happen it would be very unlikely he'd show up. But the consequences still happen- like Jill going missing/presumed dead. The fallout of that and then further fallout when she's found and brought home. Anyways, enough yapping. The plan for these bits of canon is to not actually change the viruses/parasites that much. T-Virus stays T-Virus, C-Virus is still C-Virus, Uroboros would also stay mostly the same.

It will be noted that Leon is functionally immune to most of these now, as they're specifically designed to target human DNA and his DNA is all fucked up, that's not to say he's gonna go jump in a vat of C-Virus or Uroboros, but if some of it manages to get through his carapace he's at a lesser risk than say Chris. (He also gets all the same vaccinations that the others do, even though Rebecca isn't sure they're as effective, it doesn't hurt to be safe and do it anyways.)

So Wesker will stay pretty much unchanged. However, this brings up a very fun idea of if Wesker gets bugged and also has Uroboros. Like... the Reapers are cool yeah? Wesker will manage to escape Los Illuminados uninfected, but if he was..... His bug carapace would be a pale yellow, almost white. The "tentacles" would spring up from the plates along his back, and he'd have the same long, bug legs that Leon and the other Verdugo have. I don't think I'd give him a tail, but one of his arms would def be a claw blade and be able to extend and lash out with the Uroboros biomatter. Reapers have antenna so that would be a cool trait to give him for better sensory. I'd also probably carry over the multiple limbs as well. Some of them can extend with Uroboros but others wouldn't. He'd keep his eyes, maybe get a few more of them, but his face would be largely unchanged. I feel like Wesker would consider this a failure, but I don't know if he'd ever admit that out loud. This wouldn't be what he would consider a "perfect form". He could hide some of it with those big jackets he's fond of wearing. He'd probably spend a good amount of time trying to reverse the changes himself while also developing Uroboros. There would then probably come a point of acceptance though, where he talks himself believing that he's still superior to humans and pivots to enhancing his physical mutations further.

Hi I stumbled across You Pay The Cost and binge-read it all in like. An hour and a half and then I saw that you wrote outlast fics and let me just say you are one of my favourite authors EVER. Your writing style is absolutely beautiful and (shamelessly) going through your Tumblr I can say that I am a HUGE fan of all of your works. You're awesome !!!

Oh gosh, what a lovely message to wake up to!!! I've been having so much fun thinking about and writing You Pay the Cost so I'm glad you enjoyed reading it!! (I might have had some serious writers block this year but I promise updates are coming!) Ahhhh my Outlast fics! I haven't forgotten about Survivors either, The Long Road will be finished! I swear it! I also do want to finish that old Camerashipping fic, Freedom. I still like that idea, even though I haven't updated it in.... checks the calendar, no, no that can't be right... a.... a decade???? oh god. I want to have a WIP Wed this week to show that I'm getting back on track with You Pay the Cost at the least. Thank you so much for dropping an ask, it brightened my morning!

I have started writing You Pay the Cost again. This is not a drill. I've started writing You Pay the Cost again.

Apparently all I needed was a new trailer for Resident Evil and some sub zero weather that made it too cold to leave my room to play my PS5.

I'm so, so, so sorry it has taken almost a full year to update. My brain decided to rebel and it was hard clawing my way back into the writing groove.

Mostly I'm motivated now cuz I wanna write the post game stuff. I have post game stuff planned!! And I can't write it until I finish the in game bit! Ashley you will become a bug I swear!!

I Hope You Get To Live Your Entire Life As A Human Being

I thought this was going to be a review of my time with Santa Ragione's Horses, the controversial art game recently banned from Steam and the Epic Store. To some extent, this will be that but after playing the game I think the game itself is maybe not too interesting when compared to the situation surrounding it. which is to say that a game about pressures of authoritarianism is fine but watching forces outside of the right align with captial and champion the decision to ban it from storefronts is perhaps even more telling than anything in the game. nominally lefitist gamers or vaguely progressive academics have found ways to decide that this game is simply something that should be dismissed. in doing so they align with the forces of mass capital and censorship, painting a picture of How This So Of Thing Is Allowed To Happen. Horses is a violent game. it is a game about participating in torture and slavery. it is a game that deploys sexual violence with mixed clarity. but I think it deserves to exist and so watching as certain voices have emerged to contend that worthiness has been frustrating. so I played it and we're gonna talk about it. but we're also gonna talk about how we talk about games...

setting up a tiny detail in one chapter to pay it off in the next few chapters feels sooo devious like oooh i can't wait to write the small little reference here that 70% of readers will miss but 30% of readers will cheer for

it feels so good loading the gun when you're Chekhov

There's so much stuff I seeded back in Aftermath at Mount Massive, or earlier parts of The Long Road that I know no one will pick up on or remember. It doesn't help that I took a multi year break between writing it either.

But I definitely wonder if anyone will catch some of it...

I've also seeded some stuff that I've deleted the corresponding scenes for because I'm a terrible author writing without an outline and I'm going off of vibes for some things.
