It hurts because I know that wasn’t Mike’s actual ending. I know that wasn’t my son and I know he was written out of character by two guys who let the rest of the crew write him, then swooped in to make an impossible plot hole filled ending, instead of giving the designed payback on all of the actual characters stories, without trying to even poorly imitate the original ideal, and what was originally planned for the characters by the actually competent writers on the team. I know Mike, in the real story, would’ve gotten to heal. Would’ve had his break downs. Would have had the Wheeler theme of water, death, and rebirth, heavily integrated into the base of his storylines very blood veins. I know it was all thought of and I know i’ll never get to actually see it on screen. I genuinely hope that somehow some rich gay will commission the writers to rewrite season 5 entirely on ao3 or something. wheres the gofundme girl.
i still dont know if it pisses me off more that will got sent to epilogue boyfriend land, but not actually seen doing anything he wants to do, so that nobody could complain abt how shit it was without being called ungrateful, and they wouldnt have to think about him, the fact that they took all their anger out on their closeted gay character, basically just making his entire character torture porn instead of giving him is ACTUAL REAL ending, and choose to gaslight the world into thinking this is somehow a good ending for him, or them deciding not to make Vickie butch like was originally intended, needlessly putting in a line implying that her and robin are not happy and will break up, “because its realistic” right next to magically healed together since middle school max and lucas and having Robin make all the dick jokes this season
