the same goes for John y'know. after 8 runners he can't really afford another divorce so he figures he may as well bring work home with him.

besides John would never marry the kind of woman who would try to poison him, not again. he thinks most fondly on the one he shaped into a perfect wife, bemoans that he had to let that one go just because children were involved. so he changes tactics. 8 failures means something has to change, and considering John Price has never been one to admit he could be in the wrong it's the method of extraction that changes (unbeknownst to his ninth wife).

he finds someone that makes Kyle give him a dirty look and enjoys having a new mouse to bat around the home prison, and when it starts looking unhappy, starts asking if he'd ever change, he drives it up country and dumps the body somewhere it won't be discovered. sure he mourns his favorite method of leashing but he thinks about his easiest divorces, the ones without kids, and figures this is for the best.

weddings become private affairs, and if Ghost's eyes follow him through base each time he removes his wedding ring, that isn't his problem

So I don't forget, this was the part of the dream: I was taking a relative to a doctor's appointment but the waiting room was either a fiber arts studio or the space morphed into a library as we searched for a seat until called back for the appointment. (You know, how dream spaces can be malleable.)

There was a beautiful plush, highback, tufted circular sofa (does that make sense? the sofa is round, like an ottoman, but the back is in the center so everyone sitting is facing out in a different direction) with crocheted granny squares that acted as drawer pulls (like the center was a filing cabinet or something) and in each drawer was a zine of patterns, images of completed projects, and writings and quotes from crafters, ostensibly knitters and crocheters, since that's the room we were in.

You were quoted in the zine (along with someone else I recognized at the time, but you're the only one I remember, so, clearly most important!) and I was delighted to see someone I knew! It was a fun one!

Huge shout out to all the people who read fics. Who actually take the time out of their busy days to open a fic and read it

Before I started writing in earnest, I did not understand how much writing was going to eat into my fic reading time. We joke about having too many tabs open, but I have a different problem: the amount of tabs I have open on new fics is way smaller than it used to be. My ao3 wrapped would be a sad affair. Unless I’ve subscribed to an author or come across something on my dash, I basically don’t see it

Which has really driven home for me how much fandom cannot just be creators. You have to have people who want to read fic and meta discussions and joke posts. You have to have people who want to look at art and gifs. It has to be mutual.

Community thrives on flow. You have to have that movement of people sharing things with each other for a community to exist

Thank you fic readers. You keep things flowing

I noticed the chapter count for Gut Punch had dropped by two and I must say: I'm not complaining since it means I might not have to go looking for more playlist tracks. (Nice, Charlie. Make it about yourself, lol.)

But it got me wondering, so I checked out the masterlist and see you dropped one kink completely and combined another. I'm curious about that drop; can you share (now or later) why?

And finally, I know they've already had a three-way, but given Johnny's history and Simon's gold-star status (i think, right?), do you think this version of Ghoap would ever find themselves bringing a woman home for a night, or have they both moved into the monogamy zone?

Trying again! But just to preface, all of these ideas/opinions are just from my personal HC for this fic. Might not be everyone's cup of tea just as a forewarning.

Firstly, your playlist has kept me going and I listen to it all the damn time 🩷🩷 so thank you for adding to it as you have! It's a masterpiece.

The knife chapter and the exhibition chapter both come from a time when this fic was just meant to be standalone vignettes and they don't really lineup with my current plot outline. The scenes I wrote for them stick out like a sore thumb so I sent them to the trash bin where they belong. Sadly.

The sex pollen chapter does have major exhibition themes though, so it's not fully gone.

As for welcoming a third, I think Simon only has eyes for Johnny, but once these two dumbos realize that they are in lurve, I think their relationship will evolve and grow. I can see Simon bringing home playthings of all shapes and kinds to entertain his voracious lover, and I would be surprised if Simon didn't derive at least some sexual joy from seeing Johnny's mouth shining with someone else's delicious, sticky joy.

Maybe the soft feel of a breast against his lips would change his mind? Perhaps a particularly lickable-looking T-dick just happens to turn his head? Maybe Faro finally gets his prayers answered and they sign up for round two? All things are possible here in Cali Land. The world abounds.

But at least for now, these blorbos have got to figure themselves out 😂 (and I need to actually type out the rest of this story). I'm hoping it'll be done in about a week? That's my goal, anyways! Thanks so much for reading along and always sending me the best asks. 🩷
