Finished playing Split Fiction and I love that Rader is SO uncreative that he can’t even come up with a name for the project he spent 20 years of his life on.

The Machine.

That’s it. That’s the only name because he can’t use his imagination to create something new.

Just a fun little detail that I enjoyed.

Zoe and Mio: It’s terrible how our ideas are being stolen by this machine but wow isn’t it something to actually see the world we created come to life!

That one guy who writes horror:

wildly unfair that when ariana grande creates backstories and childhood traumas and a rich inner life for a crazy blonde lesbian witch she gets oscar noms but when i do it, it's "maladaptive daydreaming" and "a waste of company time"

i think there's a very strong case the elphaba's psychotic breakdown actually started after boq's transformation and her falling out with nessa. because trying to rekindle your lesbian situationship on the eve of her wedding, crashing said wedding, and then running off with her fiancé and fucking him in the woods is simply not something a sane person does

popular and wonderful being mirrors to each other is so interesting, especially considering how both songs end. because popular ends with the "you're beautiful" sequence, which shows that galinda doesn't really believe what she's saying and is capable of seeing and acting outside of society's expectations for how she should see and act. popular shows that it's not all about popular, and it gives a positive spin on the makeover trope because it shows that underneath her performance of superficiality, galinda is capable of genuine love and kindness. underneath the shallow society girl is a genuinely kind and good person, even if that goodness sometimes gets buried under the facade

whereas wonderful has the same themes of "it's all about what label is able to persist" but the twist at the end is the revealing of dr. dillamond's imprisonment. because i think the difference between the wizard and glinda is that glinda's superficiality is primarily a barrier to her being truly good, while the wizard's is a way to justify his wickedness to himself. and this isn't to say that glinda isn't selfish or self-serving or wicked at times, but when you peel back glinda's superficiality you get the "you're beautiful" scene. when you peel back the wizard's you get Animals in cages. both songs ultimately ask us to critique the notion that the only thing that matters is how society at large views you, but the things buried under the superficiality are very different

it's so funny that i genuinely think in a few years post-canon glinda could pull off a "glinda the good is so beautiful that when the wicked witch saw her all her wickedness melted away and she is now an upstanding ozian citizen" and this would work because elphaba really is that pathetically down bad for glinda. those dumb fuck munchkins would eat that shit up

Girl in the Bubble ate but I can’t help but laugh because it really is Glinda discovering she has pretty privilege for 3 minutes 😭

okay i know the point of contrasting glinda walking down the aisle to elphaba walking through the cages of Animals was probably a "lies in the light truth in the darkness" thing but there's a read of that choice that implies that, deep down, glinda finds heterosexual marriage as horrifying as elphaba finds Animals in cages, and that's just very, very funny

All these “Liking Glinda is a red flag” and “Glinda is a fascist” people who have only seen the movie would not be able to handle her in the books where in the first 10 minutes of being introduced Dr Dillamond tells her about the oppression and devaluation he and his kind face daily and her response is just “Wow, travel is so broadening 😁”

Oh and this was after she dissed him for being poor 😭

when elphaba is kneeling at the house and apologizing to nessa and glinda jumps in to comfort her (badly) and to tell her that's absolutely not her fault and blames the inanimate object ("it's a terrible thing to have a house fall on you!") rather than the people behind it... do you think elphaba thought, for a moment, of her best friend on the floor of their dorm at shiz saying "it was the milk flower's fault"? the girl in the bubble really does wish for the beautiful lies to never stop

Imagine that you’re a woman in Glinda the Good’s court, and you’ve heard rumours that she prefers, well, she’s a girl’s girl if you know what I mean, and one time you’re talking to Glinda the Good, something unimportant, but you’re getting along quite well if you say so yourself, and then she asks you if you’d come up to her chambers, and you think holy fuck, I’m literally going to have sex with Glinda the Good, and then she tells you to put on the hat
