pjo characters as random things i and others did in my lovely public middle school
piper - the girl who stole 22 thousand from her grandparents and passed it out in stacks of 100 dollar bills at PE.
leo - that time i fought a kid with the power of hitting him several times as hard as i could and running away and crying afterwards. no punishment given.
annabeth - the sub that got fired for cursing out a group of students who may have been reincarnations of the actual devil.
jason & percy - the sixth graders who ate grass off the floor on a dare and formulated an entire magic system around it.
percy specifically - the time i grappled someone to the ground for a holy bible we both wanted to eat while his girlfriend tried to fight us for it so she could put it back where it belonged.
jason - the kid who got hit by a car and made several asgore memes about it (im good friends with them, he's completely fine.) kid also proceeded to try to literally throw himself off a swing with a fractured hip and was narrowly, just barely stopped.
grover - that other time i was dared to eat grass off the floor and did it without hesitation. also the aftermath of the fight mentioned above where i was locked in the bathroom with the holy bible and i gnawed on the pages.
frank - my friend who kept getting recruited onto basketball teams because he was 6'2 at 12. he was not very good at basketball but he got an A in the class anyways.
hazel - the guy who wore the wrong outfit to a drama competition and had to wear bell-bottom pants over his pants and looked absolutely stunning in them.
nico - the several heart attacks im on the verge of after bringing and chugging an energy drink every day since the sixth grade. also the mountain dew flavor my friends and i lovingly described as "tasting like capitalism and pain"
will - also the energy drink thing mentioned above but also the time i got pointed at and several people shouted "FOR SHAME!" at my monster energy can while the teacher was talking about caffeine addictions in relation to weed.
luke - technically happened in school so it counts, the time i cried over a library book because the mc had two present and adoring fathers and i was filled with spite and hate because the fictional character was not willing to share with me. i have a personal vendetta against you, adrian everhart, adopt me or at least give me ONE of your fathers, you have two, you can share.
clarisse - the SEVERAL fist fights that have happened within the first month of the school year.
connor and travis - the stolen goods from cvs and the stolen props from drama. also the penises drawn on every prop in drama. they're everywhere. EVERYWHERE. also the guys who kept shouting about the lgbtq+ clothes optional camp my grandpas own in texas trying to find it for... research purposes...
octavian - the very gay kid who claims he's not because he's definitely only attracted to the well passing trans man he genders correctly. also the kid who showed me a stock image of a cross while i was running a GSA booth then ran away literally screaming.
reyna - the teacher who im fully convinced wanted to get into a fist fight with a kid once and barely restrained herself. also the time someone screamed "OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUD!" when a kid half my size was trying to argue with me and all i had to do was stand there and stare down at him with my arms crossed over my chest.

I’m genuinely disappointed. It’s the diversity series. All the characters are “different” in some way. The ENTIRE POINT was so Rick’s son Haley had representation, of course minorities (queer people, neurodivergent people, POC people, etc) the people it was MADE TO REPRESENT are going to be attracted to the series and hc the characters as queer, poc, etc. Cishet, neurotypical, white PJO fans get soooo mad when minorities feel represented as if THAT ISNT THE ENTIRE POINT OF PJO. Every day this fandom proves PJO reached the wrong audience and every day I cry.

Nico’s crush on Percy is a respected part of his character and development. Rachel’s crush on Percy is considered a poor plot point and treated like some mortal sin.
I understand there are nuances to this, but at the end of the day, they both fell for the same dude. Rachel’s feelings actually make so much more sense because she spent the whole summer with him, while Nico never really got to be friends with him.
The fact that we treat Rachel like some evil homewrecker because she had a crush on Percy is ridiculous, and it’s made especially ridiculous by the fact that no one treats Nico the same way (nor should they).

Fandom when Meg slices and dices monsters at age 12 after 6 years of intense training and abuse: she’s a Mary Sue!! she’s a bad character!! she’s soooo annoying!!

did the fandom collectively forget how much jason's death impacted the seven? Percy can't talk about him without getting choked up. Annabeth literally "cried herself sick" when she heard this news Hazel went and hugged his coffin when it was brought back to New Rome Frank said "For Jason" before sacrificing his life and facing his biggest fear Piper and Leo were done dirty. Their grief deserved to be shown more but it wasn't. I just wanted to talk about what we already had.
