when i said i was gonna do some bloodborne type shit to him i MEANT IT :) an extremely fun excuse to play with some more low poly style character modelling and various rendering tools, plus some animation de-rusting/practice.

I’m thinking about Vampires Pearl again. Girl who is so pissed at literally everyone around her for being selfish. Does not comprehend why Ren and Martyn instantly hate people the second they get turned and gets mad at them for it, but equally hates how selfish and violent most of the vampires are. Just wants everyone to stop thinking about themselves and actually help each other for once. Hates cowards and hates people who are too aggressive and doesn’t really hate anyone because she just doesn’t want people to die if they don’t have to. She’s willing to kill people if she deems them morally corrupt enough. Owen wasn’t morally corrupt enough until he started killing people again. She was willing to die to prove that humanity was worth preserving. Drift says she taught her how to be brave. Cleo says her fatal flaw is that she sees the best in everyone. She got the angriest I saw her in the entire series when Ren called Cleo a beast. She was the final unturned human. At one point she only had 5 hearts because she kept getting into fights she couldn’t win. Did I mention she wants to kill werewolves because one turned her parents which is completely contradictory to everything she did and said about vampires? I need to study her in a lab.

Started a new sketchbook

“I can fix him” “I can make him worse” okay well I can break him back down to what he was before. I can undo three decades of fixing himself that he gave up so much for and tried so hard to achieve. He was broken and repaired and I can break him again. I didn’t make him any worse than he already was underneath all that effort he put into changing. But now he’s the perfect tool I need. I am Louis’ teeth and claws and I am too tired to carry on his legacy, but I can still unleash a monster that will wreak destruction upon them all.

Hey but what if it turns out he is the man he became? What if when all the hurt and pain rips the maks away, it turns out he isn't the monster both of you saw him as, but the good man the town knew him as? What if he proves you wrong? What if he does as he always said he would do? What if the cycle stops with you?

This fantasy didn’t keep us safe

I just think vapo is a very hopeful and powerful character

because so many tell her she is selfish, she is wrong, she is a monster (said by cleo), she needs to be willing to die

and apo says NO.

apo says they will live, they will go home, they will get out of here. if they can do that without hurting anyone, they will! but they will get out, they are going to survive!

and then she does!

she gets hunted down multiple times in the finale. her life is on the line. too many want her dead or are willing to let her die. and she RESISTS, she fights until the end

and it's so impactful to me! in a story full of characters that think they're not worth anything, apo values their life! they care so much about everyone around them, and it shows even when they're at their lowest! they just won't let anyone make them feel selfish for valuing their own life, and I think that's very special!

feel free to ignore me but i felt there was opportunity for fun elaborative thoughts so i ended up making a venn diagram

addtl notes i altered the wording a little bit on queerphobia bc like yes obviously but not all of it felt encompassed by just the phobia aspect. and then the third axis of ableism/trauma for stories that feel clearly linked to some kind of trauma but that trauma didn't feel entirely queer in nature (ie legs's That). pearl's not in the green overlap to me largely because while her story features a queercoded relationship (her and cleo), her actual narrative was more about the werewolf thing (at least to me). i haven't watched Everyone's POVs but the ones i haven't watched i have friends who have and tried to consult
