Rue the Twilight

like something from HP Lovecraft, only Fey!

Pinned

I mistakenly thought something had changed with New XKit. It hadn't: Stylus is the extension I otherwise never think about which I have installed to force the switch back to the old dash. I must have turned it off when I was jacking with extensions to get a website to work. Pinning this to my blob so that I don't forget it.

But dear gods, I hate the Twitter layout. And so much of web design that favors apps in desktop spaces.

Artemis looking cool...(I forgot how to caption) I'm so proud of this piece cause I'm an animator not an Illustrator but this looks cool as hell to me (✿◡‿◡)

Mercury offering the cup of immortality to Psyche c.1853-76 by Giulio Romano (1499–1546)

Giulio Romano, born Giulio Pippi (1499–1546)

"don't worry scientists will invent a way to solve climate change!" They already did... several times over... just the people who didnt like their solutions (cough cough oil companies) had enough cash to shut them up both legally and illegally

This is not a figment of the imagination…this is a picture of a reality unfolding now, behind walls, far from cameras and the spotlight. Thousands of Palestinian prisoners languish in jails, many without trial: children, doctors, students, parents…their bodies shackled, their pain unheard. They are not asking for the impossible. They are asking the world to know that they are human beings…and that their lives matter.

Since Thursday our politicians have been trying to rush the 'Kids Online Safety Act' (KOSA) and SCREEN acts alongside 15 other bills through committee in order to censor the internet while lying about it being for child safety. It was such laws that allowed the UK, Australia, and Europe to become the hellholes they are where youre arrested for mean posts.

Sadly, our same leaders are also trying to repeal Section 230 alongside these bills. What Section 230 does, in simple terms, is categorize stuff you make online as part of your freedom of speech.

If they aren't stopped they will strip that from you. Be wary.

Sorry for the non lancer post but if KOSA or the Screen ACT passes, if section 230 is repealed, it will be apocalyptic for tumblr and any site like it.

cruelty is so easy. youre not special for choosing it

"The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain."

-Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

"Evil is boring. Right? I kinda believe in the banality and mundaneness of evil. Evil is just selfish impulses, which at the end of the day are really easy to understand. It’s easy to understand why people do bad things. It’s like “yeah, ok, you’re selfish and scared and cruel, I get it”. Being good is complex and beautiful and hard." - Brennan Lee Mulligan

"How monotonously alike all the great tyrants and conquerors have been: how gloriously different are the saints." --C.S. Lewis

Terracotta Pyxis

Classical Greek

465-460 BC

Attributed to the Penthesilea Painter

The Judgement of Paris During the middle of the fifth century B.C., the white-ground technique was commonly used for lekythoi, oil flasks placed on graves, and for fine vases of other shapes. As classical painters sought to achieve ever more complex effects with the limited possibilities of red-figure, the white background gave new prominence to the glaze lines and polychromy. The decoration of this pyxis reflects the delight with which an accomplished artist like the Penthesilea Painter depicted a traditional subject.
