Fuck yeah for fat cosplay! Because fat nerd-dom/cosplay-dom needs more fat positivity. This is supposed to be a safe space where people can share, nerd-out, and be themselves. Please keep everything positive. That means no bashing of anyone, whether it's others or even yourself. Please no dieting talk, no negative picking apart of anyone’s physical appearance, etc. This is supposed to be a positive space and we want it to stay that way. We’re all for asking questions and engaging in discussion, so ask and discuss away. ^_^ However, assery won’t be tolerated here. If you come here just to bash people, we are not going to give you the pleasure of any sort of real reply. You’ll get blown off hard and fast with a good “fuck you.” So again, be positive, be positive, be positive, my friends. This is me cosplaying as Beatrice the Golden Witch from 'Umineko'.

I'm going to be honest up front here and admit that I didn't make the costume myself from scratch; I ordered it online and made a few small adjustments when it arrived.  My point here is that you can look good and have a great time cosplaying no matter what size you are, so don't let negativity stop you from getting out there and having fun being whoever you want.  :)

This was from the day that I debut my Mami Tomoe cosplay, from Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Slight background edit, since my bathroom really isn't that magical cx

Anywho, I'm 17, been cosplaying since I was 14, and I'm a US size 18.

Other than Mami, I also cosplay Chiaki Nanami (Super Dangan Ronpa 2), Cecilia Palmer (Fem! Cecil) (Welcome to Night Vale), and Kasane Teto (Vocaloid/UTAUloid) (I may post some photos of these guys later ^^ )

Cosplaying is a really important part of my life, since it's one of the things I feel most confident doing. Someday, I hope to move onto some more showy costumes, since there are a bunch that I would like to do, but I don't feel quite comfortable doing yet. I've never really received criticism for my weight and size in costumes, however receiving such criticism is a very large fear of mine. I really appreciate blogs like this that help to encourage others to cosplay and to be proud of what they cosplay. c:

This was taken back in December at Ikkicon.  I was dressed as Ellie from Borderlands 2. At  the time, I ran the size gamut between 18 and 24.  My sister (Lilith in the pictures) and I were so excited to meet a group of other Borderlands cosplayers and to be invited to shoot with their group. I have to say, this has to be my favourite cosplay I’ve made because of how easy it is to wear.

Here’s my Queen Elinor cosplay from SacAnime Summer 2013. This cosplay was a roller coaster of emotions. My dear dear best friend Mari (yerthebadwolfmari.tumblr.com) made the dress for me. I made the crown and the belt, which both tried their hardest to completely fall apart the day I wore them. Word of caution, 110+ degree weather and hot glue don’t really work well together. The heat outside softened the glue too much. 

Best part of the day (and probably my life) was when we were having lunch a few blocks from the con and a little girl got excited to meet us, and really shy. And before she left she came up to me and was like “Don’t eat the cake, Queen Elinor! And watch out for Mor’du!”

This is my cosplay of the TARDIS from Doctor Who. The top three pictures are from a small local convention, and the bottom three are from a Halloween party. The costume is ever-evolving as I come up with new ideas and accessories. The corset was purchased and modified, the skirts and hat made from scratch, the Police Box wrap painted by hand with a stencil I made. 

Bonus fat cosplay in the group picture of me with some ladyfriends as Pikachu and a femme droog from Clockwork Orange. :)
