I draw things. And 3d model things. Sometimes the same thing. Sometimes not. I tend to be more up to date on Instagram but you can find me on lots of social media as labrattish...oh. I also make games.

I’ve always loved drawing pinups (in varying degrees of clothed). Recently, I’ve been working on a collection of supernaturally (or spoopy) themed pinups ranging from witches to an alien to the big bad wolf. I have a handful of designs I haven’t finished, including a magician, bat, and more witches.

Did you know you can find almost all my 2D art on apparel and accessories through @teepublic and @redbubble? Righ now, my shop is featured on Teepublic and everything is on sale! Username is labrattish. Teepublic link: http://tee.pub/lic/iL6pSwIM4rg

I’ve been working on this for years...I have a ton of half finished things sitting on my computer that are ages old. I finished it, today. Maybe I’ll manage to finish a few more?

Done in Adobe Illustrator.

(Sorry I’ve been absent from Tumblr...life got in the way. I’m still trying to get things back to some level of normal)

For those directed over here from my guest post on Cris’s blog. Hi. If we haven’t met before, I’m sorry we’re meeting on sad circumstances now. I thought some of you might want to know some extra things about Cris, some I’m sure y’all know. Maybe add to the list and share your memories?

I guess for those that don’t follow Cris and don’t know. Cris was one of my best friends. She passed away on Wednesday (10 October 2018). It was sudden and unexpected and far too young.

+Her favourite colors were red and purple. +She loved lilies. +Ravens were one of her favourite animals. +Delta is a chihuahua, but before getting him one of her wishes was to get a French Bulldog. +She actually enjoyed the Star Wars prequels and couldn't stand what they did to Trinity in the third Matrix movie. So much so that she wrote a research paper on the (de)evolution of female characters with direct support from the Star Wars Prequels and Matrix trilogy. +She felt a strong draw towards Claptrap as a character in Borderlands. She was ridiculously excited that she got to play as him in the pre-sequel (And a lot of people know her because of her giant Claptrap Cosplay at the very first PAXSouth). +Playing Pathfinder, she started out as a half-elf bard. And died so many times in the campaign that we joked she was turning into Ben 10 (we kept trying to resurrect her original character, so she kept collecting the souls of the backup characters she played). Though she probably had the most fun as a fighting monk that punched people. +Xianghua was one of her favourite characters to play in the Soul Calibur franchise. +Alistair was her favorite romance option in Dragon Age. And she believed he shouldn't be king, that that would destroy him. +She mained Lucio and D.Va in Overwatch. She was trying to pick up more characters, but Lucio was always her favourite. +She insisted that she hated coconut. Thus, I fed her coconut a lot. To prove to her it was just a texture thing. (She loved the German chocolate cake we made, the coconut curries, and the coconut chicken strips Tori and I cooked). +Raspberry and chocolate was her flavour combination. Though she also loved mint and chocolate (Thin Mints were her favourite girl scout cookies). +She looked forward to pumpkin spice season every year. She was awful at math. But she tried. +She loved board and card games. She taught me to play Brisca. And my sister, @tremendouslytori, taught us to play carcassone (which we called cascarone), Betrayal at the House on the Hill, and Catan. Along with Adrian and @fidel-casserole we learned to play (and love) Sparkle Kitty, Ticket to Ride, Evolution, Pretending to Grown Up and Timeline. We played Card Against Humanity (even though I hate it. I know it was one of her favorites). +All you had to do was say pot roast and she'd come running. +She loved cosplaying. It was something that her and her mom bonded over, a lot. She was planning on making a robot from Fallout for PAXSouth in January (we'd suggested a RoboBrain or an Assaultron). +She introduced me to My Chemical Romance right around the release of Danger Days (I know, I was late to the game), Murder By Death, and Kaizers Orchestra and in return I introduced her to Ludo. A roadtrip wasn't complete without Nananana and Lake Pontchartrain. We cried together through Broken Bride a few times. +Neil Gaiman was one of her favorite authors. When he was announced as a replacement for Wil Wheaton at a geek event in Austin, she bought us both tickets (as my birthday present) and we spent an amazing evening listening to him talk and Paul and Storm sing silly songs. We got to be first in line for the signings. And she got to talk to Neil Gaiman for a small while while they were holding up the line to make sure she had room to maneuver in the tiny theatre. +She wanted a tattoo. Badly. She teetered between a raven and a paper crane. And a ton of other things. She was hoping and planning to finally convince herself to get one this year. +She was the most stubborn person I know. .  I saw a language joke this morning and went to message her before I remembered. My heart goes out to all of you who are dealing with the same.

I’m alive. Sort of. Just ridiculously busy. I just finished this corner render. The assignment was for the skateboard, but we have to find a way to display it...and I may have gone a bit overboard (oops). The scene can be viewed in 3D on sketchfab: https://skfb.ly/6BNVH

These guys are one of the things that I’ve (currently) been working on :D Support characters are first up! (All but two have variations planned)

I’ll (eventually) be making these available on Redbubble (and if I was brave enough would figure out how to do these as pins/keychains) I’ll reblog this post with the links when I do!

Support: Ana | Brigette | Lucio | Mercy | Moira | Symmetra | Zenyatta

So cute! <3

I made this! All of it! Minus the image through the window and the floor boards. Our final for Lighting, Shading, and Texturing was to pick a game and make 5 props from it and then arrange them however we saw fit. I chose Borderlands. And particularly Attack on Dragon Keep. <3 Everything was modelled in Maya, cleaned up in ZBrush, textured in Substance Painter, and then arranged, lit and rendered in Unity.

Officially done with Animation II. This is a compilation of my favourite works. Now to finish stuff for Principles of Character Animation, Texturing, and Storyboarding by May 9th. (Mesh was provided, I rigged it and created the morph targets for the face and all the background elements)

I have two lip syncs to do for finals. This is supposed to be the simpler one. I mean, I got to choose the audio, so there’s that! (The other is the audio for the current 11 Seconds Club challenge). I learned a lot from this. Mainly that Moxxi actually talks reaaallly fast and that I need to not set up every hypothetical mout movement because she looks a little mush mouthed. But mostly I’m really happy that it’s one thing off my checklist. (I have two animation compilations, the other lip sync (two characters), DnD animatic/storyboard assignment, and 5 props fro Borderlands, textured, set up and displayed).  If everything goes right, I’ll have my degree next semester.

I had another great aunt die yesterday. That makes 2 in less than a year. The first one, I cried. I was close to her, even if I only saw her every few years. Everyone told me I was just like her. In her old age she was brutally honest and borderline hurtful and unpleasant. But I loved her. The one that died yesterday I saw more often. And when I heard the news I felt nothing. And still don't. On top of that, my grandmother is in the hospital for the week as they try to get fluid off her lungs (a side effect of congenital heart failure). And that has me crying and thinking about inevitabilities. But more than that how I doubt I've made her proud with my life. And how that time is running out.

A peer saw me crying in my car and thought I had a bad breakup. Which is possibly one of the more annoying parts of this story...
