like this is the issue sticking out the worst to me. spoon-fed messages in every single episode as if we were not only too dumb to pick them up from subtext but too dumb to pick them up the previous four times they were delivered to us in a monologue. man it's insulting

The thing about anti Annabeth hate is that it's strongly dependent on removing context and humor from any of her scenes so that the scene and her actions can be twisted and manipulated to make Annabeth out to be awful.
For example:
- In canon: judo flip scene is written as romantic down to Percy smiling lovingly at her when she does it. Percy is not hurt or embarrassed by it.
- Anti Annabeth hate: She's abusing and embarassing him.
- In canon: Annabeth asks Percy for his pen so she can send a message to Rachel while in Tartarus. The message was time sensitive. Even all the way in Tartarus Annabeth was thinking about how to save lives, including Rachels. When Percy ask which Rachel she's talking about she does not tease him. All she does is cheekily think in her head that she has to keep her boyfriend on his toes. That's in her head and it's a joke. Out loud she does not say anything else about Rachel except that she's sending the letter to her. She never brings Rachel up to make Percy feel bad.
- Anti Annabeth hate: She's psychologically torturing Percy by bringing up Rachel in Tartarus.
- In canon: Annabeth playfully punches Percy to get him to dance with her in Titans Curse.
- Anti Annabeth hate: She's abusing him! Save him! That playful punch could have killed him.
- In canon: Annabeth is jealous and says a few snarky remarks to Rachel similar to how Percys jealousy over Annabeth led him to act out and be mean to people in Titans Curse. And again, it was a few snarky comments. Not even a lot.
- Anti Annabeth hate: She was nonstop mean to Rachel and she's mean to poor innocent Percy who has never said a sarcastic mean thing in his life compared to Annabeth.
Playing devils advocate lets treat Percy the way that people who hate Annabeth treat Annabeth
For example:
- In canon: Percy makes a callous joke about Annabeth dying and being buried in her schroud.
- If Annabeth had done this she would have been accused of being cruel to Percy and joking about his death.
- In canon: Percy ego makes him go off on his own at the start of Titans Curse and led to Annabeth falling off a cliff and multiple people dying on the subsequent quest.
- If Annabeth had done this people would have called her egotistical and accused her of always having to be the center of attention so much so that she went off on her own and her actions eventually led to a quest that got Bianca and Zoe killed. They would have also said that her actions led to someone (in this case Annabeth) being tortured for an entire book.

annabeth hate is so fuckingstupid. ohhh she was mean and prideful. she wouldn’t admit her feelings to herself or anyone and she lashed out with very funny insults rather than communicate. and it was awesome
