internet friends are so funny bro. here are some fuckers who know more about me than my mother. their names? well this one's no eyed joe, that one's takeout container, that one's moo, this one's named after several hit video game characters, that one is soup and so is that other one, here are a couple named after several thousand year old stories. that one's scammer. that one's volcano residue and here's fungus and rodent and there's podcast character and we can't forget the birds. this one says he's not named after a supernatural character but there's no evidence to support that. here's vegetables and arson. i love them all very dearly. oh yeah and they're all queer
Things I have learned in the past 10 days:
So the first two things on that list are still a massive problem, but as for the third: turns out I ended up with one of the best-case scenarios with my spinal lesion. It's a benign cyst, and while we do have to keep an eye on it with follow-ups every three months since it still appears to be growing, no intervention is necessary unless it starts pressing on nerves and/or causing symptoms or more pain.
So that's a relief, at least.
"Out with Lanterns" or "Swiftly Like Dusk❄️Untitled - C/F re-embodiment friction" for the filename game?
Whoops, two titles got stuck together there - so I'll go with the Untitled one since I answered Out With Lanterns already. The untitled one is Curufin & Finrod post re-embodiment messiness because let's be real, it's always going to be messy with those two.
For the fake fic game, what would you make of these tags?
F/F, Reunion, Darkening of Valinor, Survival, Pearls
I'm feeling like this is Nerdanel, Anairë, and Eärwen post-Darkening figuring out how to exist in a world without light and without so many of their children, relatives, and friends. Pearls because Eärwen always wears them in her hair.
🐑 epistolary, flowers, grief/mourning
That's a fic with Andreth re-reading old letters Aegnor sent her, flowers pressed between the pages of some of them. 😭
... Actually I kind of fucking love that idea. I think we've established by now that I like having my heart ripped out and stomped on.

the fake fic ask game
🐝 send me a fake fic title, and I’ll make up a summary for it!
🐑 send me a fake set of fic tags, and I’ll try to come up with a summary for it!
🦮 send me a summary I already did for one of the above two, and I’ll try to write a snippet for that summary!
what is All the Bright Illusions about? 👀
That one is Finarfin & Finrod, just after Finrod's re-embodiment. He's one of the first to return, so nobody really knows what to expect or what he might need, and added to that, pretty much all of his friends and most of his family are still either a) dead, or b) in Beleriand. So it had to be really fucking lonely at first, especially when navigating his relationship with his father, because both of them are different people, now. Plus, Mandos isn't a complete reset - it brings them to a certain point, but the work that comes after re-embodiment falls to the person who was re-embodied.
Title comes from this part of a poem by Jan Schrieber:
I’m wise and damaged now. Give me some time to rest. All the bright illusions I loved are giving way.
I have a lot of feelings about this one, lol.

"Untitled F/F/M in Beleriand"
Oh please do tell. 👀
I needed an excuse for Fingon/Finrod/Maedhros and some emotionally fraught fucking in Beleriand. Bonus points for it being cold as fuck at Himring, which two of them don't like, and double bonus points for it being one of the first times the three of them have been together since the Flight.
Hello and great to see your extensive WIP list, all those rotaded elves, delicious.
Anyway, I am most curious about "River Running Red".
Rotating Elves is how I stay sane. Or something.
So River Running Red is Maglor, Caranthir, and pre-Doriath foresight - and neither of them have ever had foresight before.
