"Out with Lanterns" or "Swiftly Like Dusk❄️Untitled - C/F re-embodiment friction" for the filename game?
Whoops, two titles got stuck together there - so I'll go with the Untitled one since I answered Out With Lanterns already. The untitled one is Curufin & Finrod post re-embodiment messiness because let's be real, it's always going to be messy with those two.
For the fake fic game, what would you make of these tags?
F/F, Reunion, Darkening of Valinor, Survival, Pearls
I'm feeling like this is Nerdanel, Anairë, and Eärwen post-Darkening figuring out how to exist in a world without light and without so many of their children, relatives, and friends. Pearls because Eärwen always wears them in her hair.

That's a fic with Andreth re-reading old letters Aegnor sent her, flowers pressed between the pages of some of them. 😭
... Actually I kind of fucking love that idea. I think we've established by now that I like having my heart ripped out and stomped on.

what is All the Bright Illusions about? 👀
That one is Finarfin & Finrod, just after Finrod's re-embodiment. He's one of the first to return, so nobody really knows what to expect or what he might need, and added to that, pretty much all of his friends and most of his family are still either a) dead, or b) in Beleriand. So it had to be really fucking lonely at first, especially when navigating his relationship with his father, because both of them are different people, now. Plus, Mandos isn't a complete reset - it brings them to a certain point, but the work that comes after re-embodiment falls to the person who was re-embodied.
Title comes from this part of a poem by Jan Schrieber:
I’m wise and damaged now. Give me some time to rest. All the bright illusions I loved are giving way.
I have a lot of feelings about this one, lol.

I needed an excuse for Fingon/Finrod/Maedhros and some emotionally fraught fucking in Beleriand. Bonus points for it being cold as fuck at Himring, which two of them don't like, and double bonus points for it being one of the first times the three of them have been together since the Flight.

So River Running Red is Maglor, Caranthir, and pre-Doriath foresight - and neither of them have ever had foresight before.

That one is Caranthir & Curufin where Curufin's the last to be re-embodied - and Mandos in my headcanon is never a perfect reset. There's always a shit ton of work still do to once someone's back in a body.

Too late. I started a new hobby yesterday. I mean... I already sew, knit, crochet, and know how to both spin and weave. My hands shake too badly for embroidery, but cross-stitch appears to be doable.
... And of course my first project is a nerdy one.
Just need to fill in the white and it's done! My pattern has 12 Silm heraldic devices so now I need to pick the next one...
